Solid Tape Measure
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using this for about a week and find it to be a good solid tape measure. Retraction is good and has a pretty far reach without support. Numbers are nice and large as well. Magnetic tip is smaller than other but still works well.

My new go to tape measure!

Having the magnetic tip makes layout on long steel projects so much easier i wish i had bought one years ago. Great tool to keep in house

My new go to tape measure
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using an my old stand by tape measure from Stanley, I didn't think I was going to like the FatMax. It looked too bulky and 'fat" to be practical. After using it for some projects around the house, I found the bulkiness kind of useful. The FatMax is wide enough that it can stand on it's own without falling over. And with the magnetic tip, its easy to measure things especially when I don't have a helper. The tape extends and retracts really smoothly, since I'm so used to my old tape measure that's been through many drops and falls. Overall, it's a great replacement for my old Stanley. I did take off one star, due to the fact that the FatMax is a little wide for smaller jobs.

Gold standard

Best tape measure
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my favorite tape measure the weight is perfect it doesn’t pull your pants down. It is still the old style small mouth with little play the magnet is stronger than any other tape out there. The end of the tape is small not big and bulky and it doesn’t have holes in it for things to get caught in. Stand out is excellent has the old belt clip which I like better. You can use it to pic up screws or tools and Magnetic things that you’ve dropped with having to bend over. sometimes the magnet wants to stick to everything which can get nerve racking sometimes I can over look that this is my favorite to of all time

Excellent Tape Measure!

But in use, it has proven to be invaluable!
A recent project was made much easier using this feature, installing a round planter wall for a flagpole.
The extra wide tape is stiff (you'll have to try it to believe it!!) and exceptionally easy to read!!

Finally, A tape for folks who work with steel
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of those fantastic ideas that makes you wonder - "why wasn't this out before?" The tape is magnetic so you don't need a helper to hold it. Just the thing for steel fabrication, pipe fitters, duct installers, electricians working with conduit, etc. This thing is great, wide blade with an 11 foot stick out, easy to read, comfortable in the hand, everything you would expect from Stanley and now, its magnetic so it stays put when working with steel. Heavy duty
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Stanley FatMax is always my go-to tape measure. As a professional in the field it's the only tape measure I think it stands up to the wear and tear of everyday use, as well as having a nice strong blade that stands out. With that being said this review is for the magnetic 25-foot tape measure. The magnet works very well and is extremely useful when you have an even longer span to measure.( if theres metal of course). I would highly recommend this tape measure any professional or homeowner as it will equally serve it's needed purpose.

Stanley Faxmax - SOLID!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stanley Tape Measures have been a staple in my life for half a century. I can, to this day, picture my grandfather wielding the silver Stanley in the summer of 78’ while building the boathouse on the lake… ahhh memories! So while I have deviated from the old tried and true a time or two I’m pretty loyal to Stanley so its no surprise that when I needed a 25’ tape recently I picked up a Stanley Fatmax Magnetic Classic.
Locking Mechanism - Solid but not smooth. While it is definitely gonna hold I’ve found it difficult to engage the lock with one finger. Its possible it will loosen with more use but at least for now it sticks and is challenging to operate easily one handed… but on the up side nothing is gonna make it slip.
Recoil: I HATE tapes that lag on recoil... this thing is fast! I love it!
Tape - The tape appears to be the same used in all the Fatmax line. It’s big and beefy and takes a beating. I admit I abuse tapes and I’m truly surprised at how this guy springs back into shape after being tweaked, stepped on, bent and crushed.
Build: For starters it’s built like a beast. I have no doubt that it will endure far longer than I can keep track of it. While it is 90% covered with a rubberized material for grip the surface of the case is fairly slick and void of ribs or ridges. The up side of this is it slides easily in and out of tool belt pouches (I keep mine in a nail pouch). The small down side to the smoothness is I have less of a grip of the tape than say with a Fatmax Autolock… which admittedly is my all time favorite tape so I’m biased.
Magnet: Very handy to have when you need it. Design is nice, its out of the way and doe not catch on things.
Left Handed - So 99% of all tapes the numbers are oriented for a right handed user. Sorry lefties, you’re reading upside down as always.
