Q:25' Stanley level lock, only extends to a little over 19'. so of coarse I kept pulling. 19' was it's limit. Now I'd really like for it to retract, but it refuses.

Q:Specs for this tape measure (33-425D) say it's a 1/2" wide tape. That's incorrect. The tape is 1" wide. Please correct the listing. It's frustrating to go through the trouble to order it, only to pick it up and find that it's quite large.

Stanley is off by 1/16. Oof, no wonder my joints were sloppy when they should have been dead nuts.

Hi used to swear by these…
I used to swear by these silver power locks and recommend them to people. I’ve owned several different brands and the classic Stanley has always held up the best… until now. In the photo the top one is over two years old the middle one is two months old and the bottom one is two weeks old. Bought one to replace a 4 year old one that the tape finally broke after having a knick in it for a year. Stanley has really cheaped out on the materials lately.

DO NOT BUY!!!
Just opened up this brand new tape measure and it won’t retract. Tried to help the tape back into the reel and the tape bent and kinked after one time bending backwards. I have owned tapes for years that have rusted through and broken before ever kinking. I have owned a lot of Stanley tapes but the materials on this one are absolutely garbage! Maybe instead of using “Global Materials”, Stanley should try using USA materials in addition to the labor. Just a thought. DO NOT BUY.

Seem Decent but is NOT made in USA
Bought 5 online. Photos show repetitively Made in USA… these are NOT made or even assembles in USA. Will probably return them.

Stanley tape measure, were always a decent product. Now the tape itself seems to be made thin. I use a tape all day long. Don't think this one will last long. Already having problems with it retracting. I will switch brands after this one breaks, which I'm sure wont be long.
