I am loving this little level. First off, it feels very sturdy and substantial. It is well built and seems like it can take a beating and keep going. It is also very well balanced and has nice hand grips so it is really user friendly. The level lines are very easy to read. The sides are slip resistant which helps you hold your place. The end caps are also a nice feature. I would definitely recommend this for a small level.

Excellent level for home or light industrial use. This is a box beam level made from I believe to be extruded aluminum (its hallow) with very good shock absorbing bumpers on each end. Brightly colored (yellow) for high visibility with both the top and bottom surface being machined flat and are a continuous surface. The main vial is accurate within .0005 of an inch per inch or a potential error not to exceed .024" over the entire length of the level. That's pretty good. There is no diagonal or 45 deg vial but there are two plumb or cross vials. All three are high visibility vials with excellent bubbles. Some levels can have too small of a bubble and the amount you can be off without realizing it is huge but not with this Stanley, it's perfect. Two large hand grip openings for ease of carrying or holding rounds out what I would consider an excellent all around level.
So why did I not give it 5 stars, here is why. The two highly accurate machined surfaces are only 46 inches long not 48 inches long. Each of the bumpers on the ends are 1 inch long thus the 48 inch total length. This is not a big deal if you going along the length of a whole board but it can come into play if you going across boards. So for 16 on center you can only cross three not four boards. Some of the newer engineered lumber is a 24 inch on center so you would only catch two. However, when I measured several other manufactures levels with end bumpers they were all the same, 46 inches.
Excellent level, great price point, should be listed as 46" level, recommended.
