A:  Hello Janelleb, Thank you for the inquiry about the FATMAX 6 in. Coping Saw. We would recommend a flush cut saw for this job. Answer This Question

A:  The coping saw is not meant to be used with wire. We are unable to provide information on replacing the blade with thin wire. We do not recommend altering the tool.

      by|Dec 19, 2022

A:  Yes, you can do that for cutting various kind of clay, such as clay meant to be used in a kiln or for clay meant to be baked in an oven after molding, shaping, cutting, adding textures, etc.

          Answer This Question

A:  Hello Ralu, It depends on how much you will cut. The coping saw is made more for wood, plastic and soft metals. This will cut just note that the teeth will deteriorate much faster than cutting wood.

Very good saw, strong bow, very rigid. Depth is 6-1/2" and cutting length is effective 6". It can put a lot of tension on the saw blade to give a very straight cut. 5" handle with polybutadiene rubber overmould for good grip. Excellent too at an unbeatable price.

            Great handle, decent throat.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this more often then I plan to; the light weight plus the super grippy handle make for more precise cuts and less fatigue. I already own a traditional Sheffield and a deep throat version but I find myself going to this saw for coping cuts in trim and veneer. Love it.

              Decent saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this a couple of weeks ago and used it to take of the sharp corners on a work bench. It works pretty good, but I’m cutting oak and it was a little flimsy but it got the job done.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great saw. Well made very sturdy for such a fine blade. The ability to change the blade angles is very innovative

I used this tool to cut the base of my small apple tree. Because of the wide opening the entire piece was able to be cut through. The blade, although very thin, was strong with a great grip. The blade was very sharp which made the back and forth motion very easy. I am now using this coping tool to put a frame around my bathroom mirror. I will be using a miter box to make sure the corners are cut properly.

If you’re looking for a coping saw for right curves, this is the one. BUT, if you’re doing a lot of cuts as a professional, you may want to look at a different handle. Construction of actual tool is great. I like the finish and it looks very durable. I personally like the handle because it seems like it’s not likely to absorb stains and oils. But I know from experience any tool you’re using for a long period of time needs an excellent ergonomic handle, and I just don’t think this saw meets the mark in that regard. Otherwise, solid tool with easy to change blade.

So I can’t really do much right now because I have a broken hand and it’s in a cast but as you can see in the picture this coping saw will come in much use when I make this series of shelves where the dishwasher was in the kitchen end it will be great for a few cuts that I need that need to be rounded to go around a couple pipes and what not but I can say from the feel of it it’s very durable and I have tried with my right hand to do a rounded edge and it was very durable and solid I would highly recommend this.
