The 1-gang 4 inch new work metal electrical wall box with ground bump is made from a single piece stamped construction. I find that this configuration is a stable platform for the use that I show. The rounded corners tend to snag less and eliminate the sharp edges that the spot welded boxes tend to have. The unit has both half inch and three quarter inch knock-outs

This is a standard 1 1/4" deep by 4 "x 4" electrical junction box. It has several 1/2" and 3/4" knockout holes around the body. The grounding nipple is raised up so the ground screw will not push the box off its mounting surface. Can be used for non-metallic wire, EMT, Rigid, PVC, Liquid tight, BX, Armour light cable. The galvanized surface will last for years. Highly recommend.

I use these when I'm running EMT conduit externally (i.e. exposed). I like these since they have a raised area for a ground screw.
