10 in. W x 3/8 in. Drive Double-Sided Aluminum Socket Rail

I was actually surprised by how well these socket organizers worked. I have them for both 1/4 and 3/8 sockets. The organizer is composed of an aluminum rail and 12 individual socket "holders" that slide on the rail. The socket holders can be positioned on either on one side of the rail or you can alternate them. I had no issues getting all 12 of my 1/4 inch sockets on the same side of the rail. The 3/8 socket rail was able to hold 10 sockets on one side which worked out just fine for me. Depending on the size of your sockets you may have to put half of your sockets on one side of the rail and the rest of your sockets on the other side of the rail. Or just buy another set. I do not have the 1/2 inch socket holder, but I would envision needing multiple rails to hold larger size sockets if you wanted to keep them all on the same side of the rail. The individual socket holders are moulded from what seems to be fairly tough plastic. The 3/8 inch holders have a steel ball that is actually spring loaded to securely hold the socket. The 1/4 inch holders have the steel ball to retain the socket but it doesn not appear to be spring loaded. The aluminum rails are about 10 inches long and have slots milled in each end for mounting screws should you desire. There are a couple of plastic caps that fit on the end of the rails to keep the socket holders from sliding off. These caps take up approx 3/4 of rail space at the end of each rail. All in all great start to get that tool set organized.

This is a really nice product! The rail is made from aluminum and the socket holders are solid plastic with detent balls to securely hold your sockets. It is a great way to organize all of your sockets and it’s handy as well. You just grab the rail and take off. I have the SAE sizes that I use most often on one side and metric sockets on the other side. The square socket holders hold the sockets tightly and so far none have fallen off. It would be nice if this would hold sixteen instead twelve sockets as a lot of sets are eight piece sets. Then you could have a complete set of SAE and metric sockets in one carrier. The only complaint I have is the stickers glued to the rail keep you from sliding the holders around. I had to use a solvent to get them off.

This is an excellent rack for holding 3/8" drive sockets. Each socket mount has a spring loaded ball to hold the sockets securely in place. The mounting posts are located on both sides of the mounting rail but can be positioned on either side. The rail is made of a durable material that lets the posts slide easily. Also the rail has holes at the end so that it can be mounted to a solid surface. All in all this is the best socket storage unit I have used.

The socket holder is an average quality and value for whom I would call the home DIY-er. The socket holder will hold the basic number of English or Metric sockets and aide in their organization. Though, I believe any "ruff" use would rapidly break the plastic socket holders. But, use in a occasional home use would likely be fine. And, again ... assist in socket organization. My other comment is regarding the Product/UPC label ... took me 30 and more that some Goo-Be-Gone to clean the label off and then, be able to slide the socket holders along the metal support strip. Again, would recommend this product for light, home use.

Great upgrade to my socket organizer. My socket drawer is full of sockets and the organizer I now have has a handle on it which takes up too much room. The old one also made it very difficult to take the sockets off the holder. The previous version also had a problem in that it was not long enough to hold all my sockets, with this one, I can put sockets on both sides and they fit. The socket are firmly held in place and are easy to release with the high quality latching mechanism. In the past I have tries several different versions of trying to keep my sockets organized, this is the best one so far. Will be getting more of these for the metric sockets. Hope I can get more of the socket part of the holders as I still have a bit more room on the rail.
