Product does exactly what it claims.
Don’t let the bad reviews turn you off. The packaging states that the stone may temporarily appear darker for 1-2 days. I have mostly white/grey, light granite and this product removed the stain and the stone returned to its original color in about 24 hours.

    Worse than useless
I don’t know why this is still for sale. I tried using it to remove the pale shadow remaining from a partially removed plumbers putty stain. I read the reviews about it and the manufacturer’s response that said there may be a temporary darkening from moisture that should evaporate in a couple of days. 4 days later it is still there. This is clearly a new stain from the product; not water that will just evaporate away in a few days. It is causing more stains than it removes. I will need to get another product or a professional to remove the new stain caused by this Stone Care product.

      Product doesn't work!
Tried this product to try an remove some coffee stains that seemed to be ingrained in the granite. Followed the directions to a tee, and covered with Saran wrap for the 24 hours as directed. Not only didn't the product work, it actually made the stain darker than it was! Very disappointed! Don't waste your money!

This is normal, what happens is the stone has absorbed the water from the poultice temporarily darkening the stone. Once the water evaporates (usually a couple days) the area will be uniform with the rest of the countertop and then you can seal the countertop.

Depending on the stain, this product works for mildew, oil, ink, and food. We would recommend reapplying (it could take 3 applications) and allowing the product to completely dry out and harden. Scrape off with a plastic putty or butter knife. Clean the area well with a pH balanced stone cleaner. You will then be able to see if it has lightened which you would apply another application or been removed. Sometimes it can take the product 24-48 hours to dry and harden depending on if it is a new or old stain.

Simply it doesn’t work and caused more stain
Home Depot should not sell these products. It didn’t remove the stain but further made a stain

It did nothing to change the appearance of water stains on black granite.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment. This product is recommended for food, oil, ink, and mildew stains. For water stains you will let those evaporate from the surface, so the stone can dry out which may take a couple days. Once they have evaporated you will want to reseal the granite to prevent the darkening as well as wipe up and clean spills when they happen. We recommend sealing once a year.

I purchased the Hamilton 61 in. double vanity with granite top from Home Depot. I had put a plastic soap dispenser next to the faucet. The other day I moved the bottle and there was a black ring from the bottom of the bottle. I researched products and this product was recommended. I purchased this product and the granite cleaner and the granite sealer. I applied the stain remover as instructed . After 24 hours I checked it and it hadn't hardened as it said it was supposed to. So I wiped the product off of the granite and I now have a black stain the size of a grapefruit.

I was a little bit confused when I picked up this product. I am used to purchasing stone sealer and surface stain remover products that you spray on and wipe off. This product is a little bit different. It is a thick cream that you apply to the stain and cover with plastic wrap to let dry and then remove. It seems like this product is more useful for really deep or tough stains that you can't get out. I just had a couple of surface spots of coffee. Unless you have a really tough stain I don't know that this is worth the hassle.

Granite and Stone Stain Remover Granite and stone are new additions we chose, as very durable upgrades to our kitchen and bathrooms. But putting off resealing allowed a couple of light soda stains to remain after wiping the surface. I was unable to get a photo that adequately showed the light stains. But of course I needed to remove them, before sealing the counter.  I carefully followed the directions and could not be happier with the results. My son also had a stain on their kitchen counter, that has been there since they bought the house 8 years ago. They had no idea of how long it had been there, or what the dark brown spot was. He wanted to also try the remover since it worked so well for us. He carefully followed the directions and found no change to the stain the first time. He tried it a second time, and this time removed the plastic wrap he had punched holes in, to allow the product to dry completely, which took another day.  It does appear there was some lifting of the stain,  so he decided to try it a 3rd time. After covering the remover with plastic wrap for a day, he removed the plastic wrap, and let it dry for another day to dry fully. As my last picture shows, the stain is lighter, but would take many more times to make a significant difference. I would recommend this stain remover for light or recent stains, but not for long term stains of unknown origin.
