Q:Can the outer cover be removed and washed in the machine? I was unable to do this for my previous blanket and I didn't want to use my washing machine to clean the blanket, so I had to toss it in the trash. I dont like to trash something so quickly.

Heavy comfort
My wife loves this blanket!
The blanket consists of an outer cover with a zip closure. Inside that, is the weighted part which is attached to ties at 12 points around the edge of the outer cover.
The weighted beads are enclosed in small quilted squares to keep them evenly distributed over the area of the blanket.
The outer blanket cover can be washed in cold water, gentle cycle without chloride and low temperature tumble drying.
The attached label on the inner weighted part states to do spot cleaning with a mild detergent.

Nicely made comforter
I got this for my son so he would have options when it comes to comfort and warmth in the upcoming cold months. I was actually surprised how heavy this comforter is - 12 lbs. complete. But it's also nice that the weighted insert is removable so it can be used in a lighter weight configuration. And our matching cat loves it too! I haven't had to wash it yet, but I expect it to launder well.

Love this blanket
My wife loves this Stylewell Charcoal Gray 12 lb weighted Blanket. She has arthritis in her feet pretty bad and where this blanket has some weight to it and holds in the heat it helps her feet to feel better. This blanket is very well made and easy to take apart to clean in your washing machine. It takes a little work to straighten it out on your bed to use it but it is worth it. I have to say it does keep you nice and warm. We have to highly recommend this blanket you love it.

I bought three of these for Christmas gifts. One for my son one for my daughter and one for my grandson. So far I have heard no complaints from anyone. The hardest part for me was trying to get them in the house from the porch. Home Depot shipped them to me and one box and it was kind of heavy. Other than that I haven’t had any problem. They seem to be well made and I gave instructions to my son not to put it in the washer only the cover. He seems a little skeptical but my daughter and grandson both knew exactly what to do with the blankets and were eager to snuggle with them The first night. I may buy two more to send to my other son and daughter-in-law. Hopefully they will find them just as comfy. I bought the 15 pound size for all of them. Don’t expect them to be queen size because they are not supposed to fit exactly on the bed. You have to have a little space around you. I wish that they were in a variety of colors. That’s my only suggestion. Gray is kind of 3LAU.

Bead distribution not uniform
Not Recommended. The Beads accumulate in bunches leaving some areas with no weighted beads at all and other areas with all of the weight.

Not uniform distribution of weight
The beads shift and bunch up in some areas and zero beads in other areas.
Not enough stitching to keep the weight uniformly distributed.
Would not recommend. Appears to have been on sale and highly discounted for a reason.
