Taryn Melamine Dinner Plates in Matte Aged Clay (Set of 6)

I got these dinner plates to use out on the patio and also to take with me when I go camping. I like the pink color and they come in other bright colors. They cannot be used in the microwave or a regular oven, which is unfortunate. They can go in the dishwasher, but only on the top rack. This means they have to be laid down quite flat, so they will take up extra room. They are made in China. I think they are good and reasonably priced.

StyleWell Taryn Melamine Dinner Plates are Perfect for my up-north cabin or at home. The Aged Clay Color is as close to Authentic as you can get. These Plates will stand the test of time as we had Melamine when I was young. Good size 8.8 inches will be Perfect for Dinner. They wash up easily and rinse right off. Do not nuke and top rack only in dishwasher no problem, there Very easy to wash up in the sink. Great price for something that last a long time.

These types of plates are exactly what I needed. I have a 2 year old who is not very friendly with her food or her plates. I know these plates can survive a fall of about 5 feet easily thanks to my 2 year old. I like the dark green gloss finish on them. And I don’t know if they are exactly indestructible but don’t worry if you drop them they will survive. I’ve already washed them numerous times no fading or any other issues. What’s funny is they were delivered and I literally put them to use within 20 minutes. They are good quality plates and almost look like the porcelain style because of the shine. I’m not sure if they have anything on them that prevents food from getting stuck but they do feel easier to knock stuff off like pizza sauce and stuff like that.

StyleWell Melamine Dinner Plate Not what I expected but not bad. The gloss green is a rich dark green, each plate measures 10 1/2 inches in diameter. The seem sort of thin but they are sturdy. There are a variety of other pieces of this dinnerware to mix and match with making your table setting fun and colorful. Upon inspection of these plates I found comment on the bottom of each plate that says they are “dishwasher safe” on the top rack ONLY, I’m not aware of a dishwasher that can accommodate a 10 1/2 in plate on the top rack. This doesn’t pose a big problem but it is inconvenient, hence the reason for the lower overall rating.

Some Melamine dinnerware can look kitschy, but these plates actually look like real clay, on the top at least. They are good everyday plates. Due to being melamine, you can't use them to heat food in the microwave or in the dishwasher. But, other than that, they are great for using on the table. Six is a perfect amount to cover guests who may drop by for a bite!

I really like the simple design of these plates. They are nice soft blush color with a smooth satin finish. Each plate measures 10.25” in diameter by approximately 1/2 inch high. Because they are melamine, they should NOT be used in the microwave. Because melamine is a type of plastic, continuous use in the microwave damage the dinnerware. The same is true when placing the dinnerware in the dishwasher on the bottom rack. Although they are a simple design, these can be used for both a nice dinner or a casual get together with friends.

So while looking through the different items I could select I saw these dishes. I am assuming most other people probably have the same problem I do, With dishes randomly breaking especially in the dishwasher or with food on them being heated up in the microwave. So I figured more dishes is good since they’ll probably be replacing other older dishes soon enough. These are made in China. They are all separated by tissue paper in the box. These are not China they are made of plastic. On the dish it says dishwasher safe top rack only, I’m gonna translate that into keep away from the heating elements in your dishwasher. Also says and tiny little letters that I can’t read with my eyes ‘ not for microwave use,’ which is funny, because if I wasn’t doing this review, I never would’ve known that, as I do not normally take a picture of the name tag on the bottom of plate to see what it says in microscopic writing. I’m giving this product three stars as even though it will not cause me a problem in my dishwasher as my dishwasher is evaporative and does not have heating elements it will cause a problem for people that have dishwashers with heating elements in them if the plates melt. And also I do put food on plates and reheat in the microwave I actually do that quite a bit, so now having these plates means that eventually one of them is going to end up in the microwave and if it gets melted then it may end up in the trashcan along with the food on it. These plates however would be great for uses such as camping, Or other events when it helps to have lite weight cheap plates that aren’t going to just break if there’s a accident such as they fall on the ground, Or get run over by a car, Since these plates really do seem like running them over with the car would have absolutely no affect on them.

We bought these plates for our RV. They are lightweight, sturdy and just right for travel where they will get jostled around. The finish on them is matte so they are less likely to show scratches from cutting food with a knife. The Melamine is stronger than just plain plastic plates like we used before. They clean up easily and I am confident they will give us years of good service.

Not good for family use. Not dishwasher safe and no microwave use. Hand wash only.

Great plates to use for any occasion. Love the pretty blue color.
