While I appreciate PolyGroup replying to my original question, it really is a non-answer no doubt from PR and approved by legal. Let's break it down. We are not going to tell you the specific phthalate we DO use, but we are going to provide a long laundry list of scary sounding chemicals which we do NOT use, including BPA--the one with the bad rep originating from the baby bottles. And then the reply wants me to follow-up off-forum to mitigate dissemination. But I am hereby following up: one chemical that is conspicuously absent is bisphenol-S (BPS). I therefore presume you use BPS unless I hear otherwise. A more honest answer would have been, yes, we use BPS, and we recognize BPS is no better than BPA, and we are open to a new formulation, but right now, BPS is the best available plasticizer required to produce the PVC material with the properties suitable to make a pool of this design.

The air filled ring does help stabilize the pool, but it is not required. While assembling a pool concrete does not void our manufacturer’s warranty, a pool assembled on concrete would be exposed to risks not covered under warranty. For example, abrasions on the liner caused by wear against the concrete are not covered under warranty. Also, be aware concrete pads may not be level.
