This mower is great for smaller lawns; it's very easy to maneuver and has the power to mow even tall grass. The light weight of the mower is deceiving, it has the power to easily cut tall grass and it does a great job of it. Changing the mowers height is easily done with one hand and the cut height is shown right at the base of the lever. The grass catcher bag is easy to install, remove and has a little tab on top that shows when the bag is full and needs to be emptied. Or you can use the mower without the bag since its mulches the clippings into very fine clippings. The handle height is easy to change and will accommodate people of most heights. Since the mower is electric there is no gas and no pulling a handle to start the mower; just easy pushing around the lawn. And best of all there are no fumes and little noise when using this mower. Since there is little noise the mower can be used anytime without ever bothering the neighbors.

Great lawnmower for someone who has a smallish yard. I have a 0.50 of an acre and it took me a little under 2 hours to mow. It took me a total for 10 mins to put together from start to finish. You will need a very long extension cord 100ft least i would imagine. Is not that loud but does sound like the blades are turning at a very high rate. Cut the grass very level and clean. Comes with a collection bag to store all the clippings. It is on the small side so you would have to empty often. Granted with the size of the mower it seems about right. Has 6 different high levels which are a great addition. Is also very light weight. I carried up and down stairs with ease. No need to maintant cause does not have a engine. Cold starts no problem.

I did not like the sturdiness and physical strength of this mower. It is made of very light plastic material that I personally see breaking after the first object that flies from the blade. The wheels are weak and don't have any thread to overcome objects. I like that this mower is very easy to store and it is light weight. I also like the fact that I can plug this mower and start without having to check the oil & gas level. I personally recommend this mower for those that have a very small and straight lawn.

The Sun Joe Mow Joe 16-Inch 12-Amp Electric Lawn Mower + Mulcher is a nice choice for small to medium, flat suburban yards. No need for gas, oil and maintenance headaches. It arrived well packed in a single box and the only assembly required was the fold-able handle and the grass catching bag. It has a compact design with the total mower weighing only about 30 lbs.Most of the construction is plastic including the wheels, the deck and motor cover. It has a handy, well placed "lifting handle" for lifting the whole mower. With the handle folded you can stand the mower up for storage. This walk behind, push mower can be operated in a mulching mode or use the rear mounted 9.3 gallon grass catcher. The grass catcher has an indicator flap to let you know when it is full. It has the safety feature of a button that must be pushed to start the mower. The single lever height adjustment will adjust the wheels to 6 different heights. The motor is quite; smooth and the 15 inch blade is sharp. The smooth plastic wheels as well as its light weight can make this mower difficult to use on tall thick grass and rough, uneven surfaces. I recommend this mower if you have a small to medium, flat suburban yard. It comes with a 2 year warranty. I have provided photos and a short review video to help decision makers.

The mower was easy to assemble done in 15 minutes. It was about as loud as a grass blower (not leaf blower) but over all relatively quiet. The width was narrow it says 16" but was more like 14 but this would be fine for small yards, any bigger and you would need another electric cord to contend with which is not included. The various height adjustment is a nice touch for such a small mower. The construction is all heavy plastic. Running over rocks is a concern for both the housing and the blade. The blade was not of heavy duty construction and not sharp at all, in fact not even an edge so the grass cut was not as crisp as a sharpened blade cut the reason this matters is because more surface area of the grass will turn to frayed then dry to a straw like color. The bagger worked well and the chute did not clog so there was sufficient force to throw the grass well enough into the bagger. The bagger was very easy to remove, empty and reset. I pushed it up the hill with little effort. The wheels were not high quality yet hollow thus not contributing to too much weight to the over all product. If I had less than .25 acre to maintain, this would be great, no gas, no oil, no exhaust, no fumes, simple construction. Just pay constant attention and don't run over the electric cord.

Setup and assembly of this mower is pretty straight forward. I did have to refer to the instructions to figure out how to assemble the grass catcher bag. However, once you figure it out, it really is a breeze to install and remove when you need to empty it. The grass-catcher does not hold a lot of grass, so you will need to empty it very often if you use it much. The mower is very light weight, so an elderly person should have no problem using it, and even a younger person is not liable to get worn out as quickly as they would with some mowers. The instructions say to use some cord-clips to attach the cord leading from the mower up the handle, to the handle. However, those clips were not included with my mower. I can easily substitute a couple trash-bag wire-ties, so I am not too upset over that. I do like the height adjuster, although I do wish that it was marked with actual height in inches, versus the 1 2 3 4 5 6 that it is. For my test, I set it on "5", which according to the instructions, translates to 3 inches, which is what most lawn experts suggest as an ideal cutting height. Luckily, or unluckily, my lawn needed to be mowed, so the timing was perfect to test this Sun Joe out. Because my extension cord is short, my test area was fairly limited. I do need to get a longer, 100 foot extension cord. The mower motor is very quiet, which is very nice. You could mow late at night or very early in the morning without disturbing your neighbors. While the motor seems to have plenty of power, and never bogged down, it seemed to be kind of hit & miss and didn't cut as evenly as I would have liked. Some spots were cut nice, but others were left high, so you'd have to go back over those high-spots and hit them again. A mower should be able to cut evenly on the first pass, unless the grass was extraordinarily high to begin with. For this reason, I could not honestly give it 5 Stars. Even though my test cut area was fairly short, the grass catcher bag ended up about half full, so I can well imagine having to repeatedly empty it often. The good news here, is that it is very simple to detach and reattach the grass bag, so the only hassle would be that you have to stop mowing, remove the bag, empty it, then reattach it and return to mowing. All in all, this is not at all a bad mower, despite my criticisms. It would be ideal for an elderly person, or someone who has just a small yard. I would recommend this Sun Joe Mower to anyone. I have wanted an electric mower for some time, as I have difficulty operating a gasoline mower. This smaller sized mower is perfect for me to use and operate. This mower requires no oil and no gasoline. It is 16 inches wide and includes the ability to change the mowing height from 1.2 to 3.4 inches. I like the easy lever on the side of the product, which operates smoothly for me. This Sun Joe includes a grass collection bag that even comes with an easy view window for monitoring how full the bag is when mowing. The assembly of this product took less then 15 minutes. It did not require any tools for the handle assembly which allows for different comfort heights. The grass catcher attaches easily, or the product can be used as a mulching mower as well. The wheels are plastic but look very durable and rugged with wider treads for easy pushing. The mower is very easy to push and started up the very first time. There were no cord clips to attach the power cord to the handle included in our shipping box, but that does not affect the function of the product at all. I am very pleased with this product and will be using it when my husband is travelling so that I can do quick mowing projects on my own.

Works beautifully, if used properly. Mowed acreage and went through 3 ft overgrowth. Light for going down over slopes and for one-handed pushing. Does require frequent bag emptying. Worth every penny, and a win for the low price point.
