          Nice small sprayer
This handheld sprayer kit has everything you need to spray paint around the house. The sprayer is well balanced and easy to wield, especially with the grippy materials on the handle. It comes with a few sprayer nozzle options as well to apply paint in either horizontal or vertical passes. The instructions are very easy to follow and walk you through step-by-step processes of startup, use and cleaning. Beware, paint sprayers are tedious to clean, but if not cleaned properly the sprayer can clog and stop functioning.

Craft sprayer maybe, but not for big jobs
I'm not into crafts, I'm into painting fence boards, outbuildings, etc. I was initially thrilled that the power cord plugs right into the battery so you don't need yet another charger to clutter up the workshop. I bought good quality exterior latex paint, read the directions (which make sense and are in English), and off I went. First, you should note that it takes several seconds of running before the paint actually exits the tip whether it is your first pull of the trigger of several pauses in (like the paint siphons back into the cup when you release the trigger maybe??). Next you should know that this gizmo is heavy in its configuration. You are holding up the gun, the battery, and a full cup of paint. I had to keep switching hands and each time I did I let go of the trigger (you guessed it, another pause while it gets paint again). I ran it pretty steady for 30 minutes, used about 1/3 of the paint from the cup, and poof - battery done. Guess what? You can't clean the thing properly without some battery left so I spent 30 minutes cleaning. In a nutshell, I cleaned the gun for as long as I painted and I barely got any fence painted. I'm going back to a brush. If you are a crafter and want a fine, even spray (much better than an aerosol can), this might be your ticket, but don't plan to paint your shed with it unless you have extra batteries and a lot of time.

A great paint sprayer with great features that's easy to use!
This is my review of the SunJoe Brand - PowerJoe 24volt Cordless Paint Sprayer Kit. This is a cool product from SunJoe. It has 3 different spray nozzles, an extra spray width lever and comes with a needle clean-out tool for the nozzles, a cleaning brush and a viscosity cup. The PowerJoe can spray in 3 different patterns, horizontal, vertical and round. The sprayer has a variable flow control knob on the pull switch. The tip collar (which fans out the paint can be adjusted to vertical, horizontal or at a 45° angle. The tip collar also has a fan width adjustment for either wide or narrow pattern spray. The suction tube can be positioned to use the sprayer pointing downward or upward - a very handy feature. A nice touch are the manuals. Instead of one gigantic multi-language book. There are 3 separate booklets in Spanish, French & English. The 3 spray nozzles, (1.5mm, 1.8mm & 2.2mm) are color-coded for size. The PowerJoe sprayer is a HVLP (high volume low pressure) so the pump/fan is somewhat loud @ 55.7 dB, but it shouldn't be annoying to most users. Using the PowerJoe 24 volt sprayer is very easy and produces great results. I sprayed sealer on brickwork and I was very pleased with the results. The pattern was even and uniform across the face of the brick wall. I shot a 8' X 15' wall and the sprayer still had 50% charge left. I did notice that that the balance is biased forward when the paint cup is full and it may become tiring after using the sprayer for an extended time. That is really the only con I can think of! I am very happy to have a SunJoe - PowerJoe 24 volt HVLP paint sprayer that is well built, has great instructions, and has a full 2 year warranty!

          Really Works Well
I tested out the sprayer on a wicker chair. I used the 1.5mm white nozzle tip that came on the sprayer. There are two other tips to use, a 1.8mm black and 2.2mm red nozzles. I got good coverage with the smaller nozzle and would use it for furniture, but the 2.2mm nozzle would probably work better on wicker. The sprayer comes apart beautifully to clean. I emptied the canister of white paint and washed it thoroughly. The long brush and the sponge on a stick in the picture did not come with the sprayer, but I used them successfully to clean the canister and the paint tube. The battery only lasted about 45 minutes before I had to recharge it. It takes 2hrs and 40 minutes to charge fully, so I advise that you buy an additional battery to use as backup when 45 minutes won't give you enough time to finish your project. The battery has charge indicator lights and the manufacturer recommends that you not run the battery completely down. It is important to clean your sprayer thoroghly any time you have to stop spraying for a while. The paint inside the tubes will dry very quickly and be very hard to get out later. I poured the remaining paint back into the paint can, then cleaned the canister and paint tube with warm water. I then filled the canister with warm water, reattached the inner paint tube an when battery had one light of charge, I ran the water through the sprayer to clean out the inside tubes. You have to keep spraying the water till it runs clear. It is best to use a fully charged battery for this last step, but I didn't want to let the paint inside the sprayer dry out. The instructions are excellent, very clear and concise. The sprayer is easy to use and the parts fit together nicely. The only negative for me was the weight. It is quite heavy with a full canister of paint and the battery.

Great Handheld Paint Sprayer for the DIYer
The Sun Joe 24-Volt Cordless HVLP Handheld Paint Sprayer Kit seems very adequate for most DIYers. The kit includes the paint sprayer, a 4.0 Ah battery, battery charger, three nozzles, a viscosity cup, cleaning brush, a needle clean-out tool and a comprehensive user manual. The three nozzles included are: 1.5mm white (thin finishes), 1.8mm black and 2.2mm red (thick finishes). This is my first try at spray painting other than with spray cans (rattle cans). The Sun Joe sprayer is not overly heavy and seems well balanced. The paint sprayer is easy to setup and the spray pattern is easily adjusted. Most paint and finishes do not require thinning prior to spraying, when in doubt a viscosity cup and chart are included. The sprayer is designed for non-flammable paints and finishes, this includes most household paints, varnishes, sealers and stains (latex and oil based finishes). It is not designed for flammable coatings such as lacquer base finishes. I was always reluctant to venture into spray painting because of the cleanup, but I find the Sun Joe Paint Sprayer easy to clean and maintain.

Cordless Sprayer for Small Jobs using Low Viscosity Paint
OBJECTIVE: I ordered this for some small, outdoor jobs where portability is more important than quality or speed. I have already painted some large white pipes for storm water management (see photos). I also plan to use it to paint the concrete-colored blobs at the end of each ridgeline in my tile roof. Then I want to use it to paint some of the lids covering my irrigation valves (All new valves have tan-colored lids, but the pre-existing boxes still have green lids which would be appropriate in Pennsylvania, but not Northern San Diego County). I am happy with the results. This sprayer does a good job. The finish looks better than pipes where I used a roller and brush, it was less awkward to paint, and cleaning up is surprisingly easy with this unit. WEIGHT: The spray bottle can hold more than a quart of paint, but I recommend using a pint or less. The unit, with battery, weighs 4.2 lbs. Latex paint weighs almost 3 lbs per quart so filled, this sprayer weighs about seven pounds which is a lot to hold in one hand for long periods. I don’t think I would use it to paint a fence, but it is perfect for touching up the roof and painting irrigation and stormwater components to help them visually blend in with the landscape. VISCOSITY: The Thinning Table on page 9 of the manual says “No Thinning Required” for Latex Paint. However, under the table it says “WARNING! Do not spray material that has a runout time greater than 70 seconds.” I used the Viscosity Cup included in the test to measure the runout time for water (13 seconds). Then I tried to measure the runout time for my latex paint, but after 3 minutes 80% of the paint was still in the cup. I think the runout time is about 15 minutes which is a lot longer than I wanted to stand there holding the runout cup. This explained why I had been unable to spray my paint. Before I found the optimum mixture, I got pretty angry about my initial results with unthinned and lightly thinned paint so for my 3rd attempt, I just poured out most of the paint in the sprayer. At that point the paint barely covered the intake. I added a lot of water so that it was probably 4 parts paint and 3 parts water by volume (in the future I will use a scale to keep track of my ratios). The runout time for this mixture was 34 seconds -- near the middle of the ranges recommended in the table (25-50 seconds), and the sprayer actually did a good job! Painting was fun, and I am kind of proud of the results. COVERAGE: In my experience this sprayer doesn’t put out a lot of paint. It felt most efficient to hold the sprayer about 6 inches from the surface I was spraying and the spot was only about 3” around. However, I was spraying a 6-inch diameter pipe so a flat surface might work differently. [I had cut several cardboard squares to test the sprayer, but I had already covered those with ugly splatter while trying to paint with unthinned and lightly thinned mixtures).] It took maybe 3 minutes to cover the first pipe and about half that long to cover the second one, not only because I got better at spraying, but there were fewer obstructions around the pipe. It took a minute or so to find the most comfortable distance from the workpiece to hold the sprayer and the optimum speed for moving it to obtain good coverage while avoiding drips or blobs. After that, it was quite satisfying to cover the surfaces with a good quality finish. CLEAN UP: This sprayer comes apart pretty easily. All the parts fit in the sink or a dish pan. Cleaning up was very easy using the bottle brush and the little wire provided along with a sponge and the sprayer end of my sink faucet. There are quite a few small parts that needed cleaning (partly because I tried all 3 spray nozzle sizes), but it was definitely quicker than cleaning a roller, its tray, and the brush inevitably needed for hard to reach areas. STORAGE: For now I am storing this sprayer in the box it came in. However, if I successfully rearrange my pegboard to find a spot for it, it will hang there with all the little pieces stored inside its spray bottle. Then I will add its battery and charger to the filing cabinet drawer where I store all my other batteries and chargers.

          Practice will make perfect.
Never used or owned any type of spray equipment before. So when I seen this affordable Sun Joe 24-volt HVLP spray gun I thought why not. Got the perfect project to paint the rusty cyclone fence with some black Rustoleum paint. The sprayer came with one rechargeable 24 volt battery. The sprayer the sprayer nozzles tips. And tools to clean the sprayer after each use. With only a twenty minute runtime per charge you have to work fast. I'm already thinking I might need a second battery. Takes around two hours to recharge the battery. Still working on my technique and thinning down the Rustoleum paint was a learning experience. And even with the paint sprayer filled paint. The weight of the unit was not to heavy or awkward to spray the fence. Overall for the average homeowner great product. Sun-Joe warranties this product for two years. Great product for keeping your home looking nice. Any maybe even save you some time doing all projects that need painting.

Sun Joe painy spray gun, battery operated
This was a very good purchase, works very well. It comes with 3 spray nozzzles, a wire brus and wire nozzle tool. I sprayed a chain link fence with it using large peices of cardboard behind the fence to prevent over spray of the area, it worked very well. I installed plastic fence strips for privacy. The battery is it's on charger, just plug in the cord provided and plug to power source.

          Nice Quality Cordless Turbine Sprayer
The PowerJoe 24V Cordless Turbine HVLP Paint Sprayer weighs about 4.4 lbs with the 4.0 Ah Li-Ion Battery. It can spray 3.2 gallons on a single charge. It feels natural in the hand and the little electric turbine does a great job of atomizing. Spray Fan Width and Spray Pattern (horizontal fan, round, vertical fan) are easily adjusted on the Spray Cap. The Flow Control Knob is by the trigger and there are three different sized spray nozzles--1.5mm white (thin), 1.8mm black and 2.2mm red (thick) for gross adjustments. It is pretty easy to set up. Many coatings do not need thinning. There is a viscosity cup and a chart for thinning thicker materials. This sprayer is electric and the body and components that need to be cleaned/come in contact with the coating are injection molded polymer. This sprayer is appropriate for non-flammable coatings only (flash point above 73.5 Fahrenheit). That generally means water based and oil based (thinned with mineral spirits) coatings. This includes most household paint, varnishes, sealers and stains. It is not designed for flammable coatings such as those thinned with Lacquer, Benzine or Acetone like automotive paint, catalyzed primers/paints, and pre-cat Lacquer. Save those for your pneumatic metal body HVLP gun.

          Good for Small Projects
PowerJoe 24V Cordless Paint Sprayer. Comes with battery / charger / cleaning tools and choice of nozzles. You can download the instructions off the Home Depot site. Has spray width adjustment and flow control. 32 oz paint container. This is good for small projects like painting furniture. For larger projects like a yard fence, I'd suggest you get an extra battery since the run time is stated at 20 minutes and the recharge time is close to 2 hours. If you're a novice at spray painting, I'd recommend practicing before starting your project and take the manufacturer's suggestion that you use a small roller (1" dia.) to go over any drips or runs in the paint.
