Single use, returned to store in under 15 minutes. My roomate and I both purchased on of these to keep in our cars for emergency use in the winter. Went to shovel out my parking spot at my apartment when we got home and in under 30s the head had flung off mine. After inspecting the other shovel, it had also already cracked in the same location. The single screw that hold the think shovel to the shaft causes it to crack.

Being stuck in Minnesota, I am sure this can be helpful..much more so than a typical small emergency shovel. I have purchased some of the full-sized Suncast shovels and have been satisfied with the quality and the value.
Although I recently purchased this and have not used it yet, I am confident that when I'm stuck in the snow, which happens occasionally, I would rather try than to wait an hour or two for a tow-truck. This, sand, and special treads that I stick under a spinning tire will help. The trick is to remove snow IN FRONT OF THE WHEELS..and stay in the car!
After having experienced the worst reminds me each fall that preparation is important unless I want to wait for a tow-truck with everyone else that is stuck. Sometimes it's not about the convenience, but, either way, my intentions are not to be stranded in the cold snow.
There can be urgent or emergent issues that cannot wait (accident, on a highway, cold - frostbite and hypothermia, health - esp the elderly, more snow forecasted, in a ditch, etc.). Even if I am okay, I may have passengers that are not.
Thank you to Suncast for making quality products that help. At least this emergency shovel eases my mind a little. Hopefully I won't need to use it.

I love the arm extends to normal length! Compact length and width is great for storing in the car trunk. Plastic is sturdy enough, not flimsy like some cheap ones. One thing it does not have is the metal edge blade. Price is good, and I am hoping this shovel will last 2-3 winters.
