Can this be wired directly to the main blower of the heating/cooling system to have it turn on and off as the main AC unit does?

As long as you have access to the power on the switched side of the AC, yes.

Could this be wired to a evaporative cooler thermostat, such as a Dial that has built in high low switch?

Asked by: PapiPeacock
Yes, as long as the thermostat supplies 120V to the booster fan and keeps the power to the high and low fan speed wires separated. The high and low speed wires can not be powered at the same time. The switch must not be one that powers "low" on low speed and "low" + "high" on high speed. So the switch should be an SPDT type (single-pole double-throw), or DPDT (double-pole). The wires of the two-speed booster fan must isolated as well. They can not be wired in parallel with the evaporative cooler's motor wires or either the booster fan or cooler's motor windings will burn out.

What are the two speeds and what is the fixed speed of the other model offered?
Asked by: dave
Hello, The DB310E is a two speed fan. Free Air on LO is 300 CFM, Free air on HI is 460 CFM. Free Air is the amount the fan flows all by itself with no restrictions on the airflow such as duct work, elbows or reducers. Max boosted airflow of 900 CFM is achieved on HI and is the maximum the fan can flow before is becomes an impediment to the air stream. Max Boosted assumes an existing airflow through the duct. If you are referring to the DB210 single speed 10" fan Free Air is 300 and Max Boosted is 650 CFM. Thanks, Suncourt

I have mine wired in to come on with the furnace blower, and it has done well so far. No determination yet on long term durability. I was most pleased with Home Depot for shipping it so fast.

That far room was always several degrees different from closer rooms. It is doing the job equalizing temperature. I wired it for high speed. Tied it directly to the main duct. Do not hear it, not even softly
