I installed my 8 in. fan in a 6 in. duct using off the shelf reducers from Home Depot. They have reducers for 7 in. ducts to 8 in. Speedi-Products 8 in. x 7 in. Galvanized Sheet Metal Three Piece Reducers Model# SM-RDP 87 $11.90. They also list Broan-NuTone Steel Transition for 8 in. to 7 in. Round Duct Model# T487 $33.91. Hope this helps you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet, moves a lot of air. I’m using this in a make-shift setup for my wood lathe. When sanding on a lathe, a lot of dangerous dust is thrown into the air. I’ve mounted this behind the headstock to suck the dust from the piece, blowing away from me. I’m working on a filter box that will pass the air through a standard furnace filter to remove those particles. Granted, I’m not using this as-designed, but the fan works great, quietly moving a lot of air. Sure, is got plastic blades, but why would you need anything more for a simple fan?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inductor 8 in. Corded In-Line Duct Fan Very easy installation I installed the 8 inch duct fan in my bathroom and now use it to circulate air when someone’s in the bath room taking a shower or taking care of business; the fan is very quiet and can barely be heard since it is installed above the attic space. I added a power box in the attic hooked up to the bath room lights, so when someone turns on the bathroom lights the fan automatically turn on and will turn off when the lights go off. 500cfm air flow is sufficient enough to circulate air to prevent mildew build up or possible mold. Made from galvanized metal so it won’t rust and a self lubricating motor fan so it should last years & years. Very happy with the product

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This thing can move some air. Not the quietest fan, but it does the job for my purposes. It is corded already so you can just plug it in and use it! I attached mine to a charcoal filter to scrub the air in my apartments. Very useful after a tenant moves out to help disperse odors. two or 3 of these with some ducting and a filter are a low cost alternative to expensive odor treatments. Combine this with some baking soda and a vacuum cleaner and you have a quick way to clean up! The 8" fan moves more air faster than the 4" and the 6".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from strong & quiet I purchased this fan to use for a painting booth. The blades are plastic and light weight allowing it to rotate very fast. This fan is capable of sucking out a high volume of air maximizing air flow. The fan was very easy to install because it came with crimp and bead on one side along with screws. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the value of this fan and with the strength and low noise that it makes.
