Hacksaw, Cut off saw or grinder with cut off wheel. Tape and square to measure and mark. As far as I know HD does not cut products like this.
In the same area where you picked up the strut they have brackets. You'll need a 4-hole flat straight strut bracket & some rail nuts & bolts. All should be right in that same area. 2 bolts into 1 strut piece & 2 into the 2nd. good luck

Sure, the Superstrut is very versatile and can be used to hang shade sails, just make sure to fasten to the deck securely.
The gauge of the steel and the channel size are identical to the P1000T, not sure if the grade of the steel is comparable.
Don't bother calling or emailing them. They will advise you to use Unistruts
While I have not used the Superstruct for this purpose it should be strong enough to support two adults depending on your span between them. I am using them on a trailer as cross members to support my two Hobie kayaks which are about 150 pounds each and have not had any issues.
While the 12 gauge Superstrut is strong I do not believe it is approved for building a stucture, you may want to check with your local city or county regarding the use of Superstrut.
