Having never re-upholstered before, and having read reviews about stapler jams, I sought out a "pro". Wow, $400 for 8 dining chairs even when we dismounted the seats and removed the old material! After further review, I purchased a Surebonder for $40 at HD. Couldn't be more pleased! It was easy to use and I didn't have a single jam while using over 1000 staples. My wife and I are very pleased with the results! It came with several thousand staples of 22 gauge, including the 7/16 we used.

Lightweight and easy to use with excellent results. Used it to reupholster a chair and ottoman and I'm very pleased. Nose was long enough to use it in hard to reach areas. Getting 3 sizes of staples with it was an extra bonus and extra savings. (This stapler was listed for $3.00 more than I could find it for elsewhere, but the staples more than made up for this, as did the free store delivery.) Comes in a nice protective carry case.

With all the terrific reviews I read here I assumed this model would be a good stapler for my upcoming upholstery projects. It worked liked a charm on the first arm chair. It failed miserably after that, spewing oil through the trigger, and then, the e ring that holds the trigger mechanism together came off and the thing completely fell apart. Unless this was an anomaly, I would not recommend this stapler for holding up well. However, I can say that it never jammed on me. I am returning it to the store a very unhappy camper, but at least I can get my money back and apply it towards a better stapler.

My wife was going to try and re-upholster a rocking chair. So instead of tacks we thought we would try a staple gun. Check your web-site and found various models. Purchased this unit based on a few things. The name & price, but also, it came with variety of staples. This unit has made the task very easy. The pneumatic stapler has worked great. Had this unit only a few weeks, and she loves it, the stapler has far exceeded our expectations. She will now attempt more upholstery projects, because of the ease of using this stapler. It was a great buy.

    Pleased with purchase
I found the stapler to be light weight, easy to use and small enough to to get into most places with ease. The addition of three packages of staples was a nice bonus.

    Pneumatic stapler
This stapler comes with 15,000 staples; a lifetime supply and works like a charm. I used vegetable oil to coat the track prior to use (as other reviews recommended) and reupholstered our leather bar stools. They look better than the original. I love this staple gun and the power it packs. It is lightweight and super easy to use.

Has some issues but more reasonable price than others
I ordered this product so that I could recover a couch. The job got done and I am pleased with the results. I did experience a couple of slight problems: The "hammer" (the metal piece that actually pushes out the staples) should be oiled. The instruction manual said to oil the stapler daily but only indicated oiling at the air inlet. Once it got to the point that I was opening it up and pushing the "hammer" back into the retracted position after every single staple, I decided to oil that portion. I waited overnight and then shot the empty stapler into scrap wood about 20 times before using it again. It worked much better after that. These staples break VERY easily. I got pretty frustrated pulling the 2000 or so existing staples out of my project, but most of them came out in their entirety. I would say that these Surebonder staples broke about 80% of the time. It made me more careful to not make mistakes, but when I did, it was really a pain. It will also definitely affect whether or not I will ever recover this couch again. I cannot imagine trying to pull out 2000 of the Surebonder staples. On the positive side, this stapler is much cheaper than any alternative I found. This set from Home Depot came with lots of staples. I can probably get through one more project before I need more of the 3/8 inch staples. (I only used of few of the other sizes.) I did not experience any difficult jams. It is lightweight and easy to use. I do recommend this product if you keep in mind to oil the hammer and you are ok with the fragility of the staples.

Worked great. Good value. Only one jam that I caused rapid firing during the reupholstery of a recliner. Five bolts and it comes apart to clear, then right back together. Much better than the Numax I bought three years ago. (Numax would not set staple at the correct depth no matter what pressure I was using and gun was lubricated. Numax caused me to pull 50% of the staples. So it was used it to reupholster one wingback chair ) I replaced it with the Surebonder and happy with results and value.
