    Hi Sprayers, It depends on the cleaner. This unit will work for most cleaners and degreasers, including bleach. There are some acid-based cleaners that require a sprayer specifically for acid, which is also available.

      Hi linda, Good question! A pump at the top of the sprayer is used to pressurize the tank. Pressure in the tank is used to push liquid through the hose, to the flow control, then out through the nozzle at the end of the wand. The flow control is used to start and stop the flow. The wand has an adjustable tip that allows the user to adjust the spray pattern. Hope this helps!

        Good Quality Sprayer
        I like the stand, for one thing. It keeps the sprayer sturdy The wand is rigid and doesn't seem to bend like the other less expansive pump sprayers. There is a metal ring on top of the pump reenforces the pump. The only flaw is the jelly lubricant for pump action. It leaks into the solution. I recommend checking the pump every time a liquid solution is poured into the container. If you live in a hard-water area as I do, I recommend following the manufacture's recommendations to clean the tank and sprayer every time. Some solutions plus hard water thickens the velocity, which means you have a clogged wand. The reason for 4 out of 5 stars is that it's still new. I will change this if the pump breaks or becomes in operable.

        Great Quality
        For the price you pay, you get so much more and I’m thrilled. Included is a thick molded plastic tank that holds a fairly good amount, hose that features kink resistance to the tank and the wand, bag of nozzles and extra o-rings, and a think single shoulder strap. I want to give props to the company for their instruction guide and listing every single part in detail with its own part number. This tells me the company backs its products and ordering replacement parts shouldn’t be a hassle. The sprayer itself is built more solid than I was expecting. Pump and spray action is smooth and pressure meets expectations.

        Great Multi Use Landscaping Sprayer
        The Swissmex MX 11 high compression sprayer is a high quality unit with a 1.84 gallon capacity. I have had many sprayers of a similar type for comparison. I like its rugged construction and the fact that it is a somewhat narrow cylindrical reservoir (7” diameter). My first experiment was to see if I could use it with only about a quart of water while pressuring it to a reasonable level. It performed well and demonstrates that it will totally work well for me. The spray pattern is a circle and the spray is consistent without losing fluid. I’m very pleased and the flow rate is just about ideal for what I typically use a sprayer like this for. Another feature to like about this unit is the built in funnel at the entrance to the reservoir and pump handle. This makes it easy to add chemicals and water without spillage. Another feature to like is that the screw in gasketed pump is also somewhat narrower than I’ve had before that will make its longevity no doubt longer. This unit is warranted for two years. I have some ant spray to try on my next experiment. Plus I plan to use it for weed control also I’m very pleased with the quality of this unit and anticipate years of service life from it Thanks Home Depot again for another great product!

        Poorly Documented Assembly Instructions but it Worked Anyway
        I had over a gallon left when my liquid insecticide with sprayer attachment quit working. I got the MX10 so I could salvage the remaining fluid. The MX10 looks to be reliable with a fiber reinforced hose and a pro level ergonomic shut-off with filter. The working pressure is 1 to 2.5 bar or 14.5 to 36.2 psi. It also comes with a pressure relief valve and a plastic adjustable nozzle. The spring style strain relief at the bottom of the hose looked well thought out. The only problem I had was trying to figure out how to assemble the wand assembly. There are several parts that come in a little plastic bag. I read the instructions, and the only part I saw was the rubber washers. I took my best guess and assembled the wand, and I still had a couple of leftover parts. The sprayer still worked well enough to dispense my insecticide. I suspect the spare parts insert into the nozzle for different spray patterns... but they were never mentioned in the instructions.

        Excellent Sprayer - Best so Far!
        I've used a lot of weed/bug sprayers in my life and this one is hands down the best! The sprayer is 1.8 gallons, more than enough to keep you busy for a while. The body is all plastic and feels heavy duty. The wand and hose are very long. I measured almost 77" from the tank to the tip. The tank is frosted white, but there's no problem seeing how much fluid is remaining. The sprayer comes with replacement parts such as the rubber seals plastic inserts for the wand. This is extremely handy as the unit gets older or put through some heavy duty use. The pump mechanism feels very solid. It locks into place with a twist after you are done pumping. 10 pumps had this sprayer shooting 25' with the stream setting on the adjustable tip. Not that you'll need to spray a weed or a bug from that far away, but you could. Rotating the tip adjusts the sprayer from mist to stream. There's a pressure relief valve on the tank in case you over pump the tank. The carry strap is a little awkward. I had to fiddle with the strap adjustment to make it manageable to carry. Not bad enough for me to lower the score for this review, however. My favorite feature, besides being able to spray 25' away, is the pickup point for the fluid is integrated into the bottom of the tank. No plastic hose hanging in the tank. You know when this thing is empty and don't have to tilt it to one side to get all the fluid. Overall, I'm very pleased and cannot say enough good things about the product. 5 stars!

        A well designed pump sprayer
        I live on acreage that I maintain and find a frequent need for a compression sprayer, be it for spraying herbicides or pesticides. The MX 12 (2.37gallon) compression sprayer easily assembled in about two minutes. There are a variety of spraying wand tip options and my preferences is the fan tip sprayer as I can best direct that spray pattern for my needs. The shoulder strap comes in handy to take some of the weight off of your arm. The wand is relayed as flexible and unbreakable and it appears to be well-made. Operation is straightforward; add water, then add your desired pesticide, insecticide or other, pump the sprayer for pressure and then spray. I like it and mainly spray herbicide.
