QUICKTRONIC 2 x 96-Watt, 120-Volt/277-Volt T12 Fluorescent Electronic Ballast, High Output

Excellent replacement for my existing ballast. I had to locate a ballast that was designed for high-output (HO) fluorescent lighting, and this ballast met the demand. This ballast is more expensive, but it's worth it. My fixture has 2 8-foot (96-inch) bulbs in it, each rated at 96 watts. So you need a ballast like this to support this unit. I have seen other ballasts that are rated for 30 or 40 watts, and these will not work properly (lights will be dim or flickering). The wiring was an exact duplicate (2 blue, 2 red, 2 yellow, one black, one white) of the original ballast; all I had to do was cut the old wiring from the old ballast and reconnect this one to each color wire with plastic wire nuts (strip and splice the wires together by color and then twist the plastic wire nuts over the spliced wires. Don't worry if the ballast is not the same length as the original (my original was 1 1/2 " longer) as the fixture has different pairs of mounting screws for different lengths. Just be careful not to drop the screws when removing the old ballast, as you may lose them! After installing and turning the switch on, the lights can back to life! THANK YOU HOME DEPOT for carrying this higher output ballast! TIP: To confirm that the issue was the ballast and not the bulbs, I switched the bulbs from another fixture first and they still didn't work in the old fixture, but they worked in another fixture. Good LUCK! It's really an easy job to replace!

Smaller and lighter than the old ballast.

Even though the ballast had the same electrical requirements the new ballast did not work and there was no one in the electrical section to guide me to the correct ballast when I brought the tallest back. Refund process went smooth. Half an hour lost doing rewiring with no lights; and yes, the neon tubes were good.

Easy, straight forward install. Check the wiring diagram and the compatibility indicated on the new one vs the old one to be sure you get the correct ballast.

I bought 5 of this balasters, they worked great, and all my lights are now working with out any flickering

I’d know clearly the employee doesn’t understand when the customer says they NEED A 4 light ballad and yet they still give me a 2 ballad which WILL NOT WORK ON A 4 BALLAS! I even asked him is that a 4 or a 2. He said a ! Clearly NOT! I can’t say if the product is a good product or not since it’s not what I asked for.
