Questions & Answers

I open this up and there’s a terrible smell to it I thought it was not supposed to smell does anybody have this problem

Asked by: Gina
Are you sure you're reviewing the right product? The sisal rope sold in-store at Home Depot is a different brand and it STINKS like some kind of petroleum product and leaves an oily stink on your skin or any surface it touches. This product was only available online when I bought it a few weeks ago, and I had it shipped to store for pickup there. It only smells of the natural fibers which dissipated quickly, no petroleum odor or residue on this product.

What is the most secure way to attach the rope? Also what is the safest adhering agent for pets?

Asked by: Kala
We used the large staples, the kind you hammer in. We tightly wrapped the posts and ended with another staple. The trick is to wrap as tight as you can so the cats don't tear it loose! I would not use any adhesive!

Is it safe to wrap around a heating pipe in a kid's bedroom to prevent burns? Is it unwaxed?

Is it safe to wrap around a heating pipe in a kid's bedroom to prevent burns? Is it unwaxed?
Asked by: Nick
That doesn’t sound like a good idea. It would seem that like wood it would drive out the moisture and increase the flammability of the rope.
