Ordered 2 pallets (72 bags) to take ~1100 sq ft to an R-55. If you are going through the trouble of adding insulation it is worth it to remove the old insulation and spray foam the top plates and protrusions to stop the air flow. Don't forget the soffit baffles and radiant barrier while you are at it. It took 3 of us 10 hours to blow it all in. If it is humid you are going to struggle with clumping. Also, the free rental machines offered suck. We had to go to 3 stores to get one that worked. The second store machine had gears held together with zip ties. It is worth the extra expense to go rent an industrial blower from Sunbelt to do the job in a timely manner. Also, there is various debris in the insulation that makes it through the recycling process. I think the TAP brand is "cleaner" than the other. I had read reports of a trash smell in the insulation but did not experience that with this. The insulation dust gets everywhere. Even with a full face mask respirator the dust was intense. End result was much better than expected. I believe stopping air flow was a major player in the insulation performing as well as it did.

I Wish I Did This Years Ago
Awesome product, they delivered 36 bags and dropped off inside garage where I needed it! I wanted this product for (3) reasons THERMOL, ACOUSTIC, PEST CONTROL! I hired professionals to install, using there equipment! There machine was fast and the two guys were in and out within two hours! I can tell a huge difference same day results. My crib is quieter and I’m using less AC per day! Can’t wait to compare my energy bill from next year. I had existing cellulose from the builder, and my installer said they missed a few areas, I’m not surprized. But no worries moving forward because they topped off everything! IMPACT INSULATIONS in Fort Myers, FL thanks Donovan!

Forced to purchase 36 bags when I needed 22., Delivery delayed 4 times, then 3.5 hours late. Free machine from HD put out less than 20 lbs/hr instead of advertised 450. Had to hire 2 people to carry in insulation in 5 gal buckets for 12 hours. REFUND PLEASE! At least buy back the 14 bags I didn't need. Please credit my HD card.

The TAP Pest Control Insulation has completely fulfilled my expectations so far. I installed 72 bags in my attic over a two day (41 the first day, 31 the second) period because the blower couldn't handle the insulation at a higher feed rate. The insulation was fairly dusty, but that was expected. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the dust settled out of the air. Previously my attic only had about 6 inches of blown-in fiberglass insulation. Now I have a total of about 16 inches. Since installation I have noticed that my upstairs rooms are much more quiet and they feel warmer than they previously did. The new insulation hasn't been in long enough to make a comparison on energy savings, but I'm sure there will be a significant difference in both winter and summer. I purchased TAP insulation to prevent bugs from infesting my attic. I was surprised when I went into the attic one week after finishing the installation and found several dead bugs laying on hard surfaced storage areas. I'm very glad I paid a little extra per bag for the insect control feature.
