there is not shelf life you buy it and apply around the entire perimeter of your home. I recommend it, as it is one of the best products that is safe for you and your family including your pets

We recommend applying this product as a perimeter treatment around your foundation, which includes all walkways, so that the product comes in contact with the earth/soil/ground. If you see any carpenter ant nests or areas where carpenter ants might nest, such as a hollow tree or a stump, we recommend applying 1/2 to 1 ounce of this product directly into the cavity. If baiting is not an option, we recommend using TERRO® Outdoor Ant Killer Spray, which can be used on a variety of surfaces, or TERRO® Carpenter Ant & Termite Killer Ready-To-Use Spray, which can also be used on a variety of surfaces. We recommend using all products as instructed on their label.

This product is comprised of the active ingredient orthoboric acid (5.0%), and a proprietary mixture of other ingredients. The granules are weather resistant, and should still retain their effectiveness after light rainfall.

Besides ants, it also kills slugs, snails cockroaches and more.

We do not recommend using this product near edible crops and suggest that it be applied far enough away that it cannot be accidentally blown onto the vegetables by the wind.

It depends on how mush snow or rain you get, water washes away treatments so I have had to apply ever year for the last 3years it depends on the region you live in
