I have so many plants that need to be re-potted and plan to get several more that will need to be potted. I was really excited to find This Tidy Pots 9 in soil scoop. You can scoop a lot of soil with this much wider than a spade scoop. The scoop is also curved so that it fits the curve of the pot so it’s easier to dump the soil in the pot without spilling so much. The description says that you can flip the TIDY POTS upside down and use the curved flange to compact soil – That might work on large pots, but it wouldn’t fit in some of the pots that I use. Overall, I like the concept and because it’s made of plastic, it won’t rust. I figure in a month or two it will really be given a workout and I’ll know for sure if it’s a long-term tool.

I love it! Super handy for all gardening/re-potting needs. Easy to use and easy to store. The design and size makes re-potting go so much faster than with a trowel or your hands. It is precise too! I did not end up with a trail of soil or soil everywhere around the pot as I usually do. The"TIDY POTS 9 in. Plastic Potting Soil Scoop" is a gardeners dream!

If you've ever put soil in a pot or container with a shovel, you usually wind up with a mess of spilled dirt. The Tidy Pots scoop is the best way to transfer planting soil! It has a sturdy feel to it and nice curved surface. No, it won't hold as much as a shovel, but the plastic scoop allows for far more control on where the soil winds up. It's pictured in a 10-gallon canvas planter - you can see this is a BIG scoop. We also blend planting soil using clean dirt, pearlite, compost, peat moss, and sometimes a little sand. The scoop can be used in the garden cart or wheelbarrow for better mixing than an unwieldy shovel. VERY pleased!

An amazingly simple design that makes potting and re-potting plants a much cleaner experience. As most of my potted plants are at work, I do not have an outside workbench to re-pot plants and this scoop with its scalloped curved design makes transferring soil from the bag to the pot a simple clean process. It also comes in handy for outdoor plants as well (see my pictures). Something that we will keep next to the bags of potting soil.

This 9" plastic soil scoop is made in the USA. I thought it would be flexible so I could fold it to fill smaller pots, but it's quite rigid. I tried scooping out of a 2 cu. ft. bag of potting soil but the scoop was wide enough that it wanted to catch on the bag when lifting out and spill. It's also too wide to fill a 1 gallon pot. But it worked perfectly to fill 3 gallon pots and larger, which is apparently the design goal. It would work well for scooping soil from a mulch pile or a wheelbarrow or other larger container.

This Tidy Pots scoop works well to collect large amounts of soil in each scoop full. The only thing that I can find wanting is that it requires the use of my hand in a way that makes my arthritis in my hands hurt after a few scoops full. As I mix my own potting soils to use in my flower and rose pots, I am sad to say that I am going back to my half round scoop with a handle that is insulated. If I was younger and had good hands this would be an ideal way to fill my 14 inch and larger pots on the patio. Once again this item works it is just that I have arthritic hands that need a handle to grip. The shape of the Tidy Pots scoops is shaped like the blade of a shovel without the long handle thus it holds a large volume of soil. But without a handle to provide leverage if you have too large a volume of soil it is harder for me to lift.

This never-rust, handy tool now rests on my potting soil sack at the ready! Intuitive from the get-go! (see photos for our first use). Clever design with teeth ready to scrape; sized for scooping and transporting larger volumes than a traditional shovel; curved to minimize spillage when filling the pot. Convex face facilitates compressing loose soil in larger pots. Label peels off easily in one piece- none of that stubborn adhesive residue.

Where has the TIDY POTS 9 in. Plastic Potting Soil Scoop been all my gardening life?! The scoop is a solid piece of plastic. Extremely durable. I was able to move about 18 gallons of potting soil into a container in just a few minutes. You can see in the photos how you get a massive amount of dirt in one scoop. It was easy to scoop and hold while transferring...no spills. The serrated edge helped get deep into the dirt. It rinsed right off without any issues. If you are a serious gardener you should really get the TIDY POTS 9 in. Plastic Potting Soil Scoop. For the price even a casual gardener should get one. You can not beat it...really.

This potting soil scoop is so much more convenient than using a large shovel with the pots, and obviously scoops more dirt than a garden shovel. It also gives you more control and doesn't get dirt everywhere. I like the edge that allows the scoop to fit onto the pot for pouring, and the flange also allows you to compact the soil. The curve of the scoop also makes it easy to add dirt when needed to plants that are already potted.

Tidy Pots 9 inch plastic potting soil scoop is a very easy way to be able to pot your plants with ease. This new item helps you keep the dirt in the scoop and quickly into your pots. I am using mine to prepare the tulip bulbs for spring. I do a lot of flowers in pots in the spring and summer which I will use this to help me manage the quick and easy filling up of potting soil. Saves soils spills and waste of potting soil. It is made of plastic and has a lifetime warranty.

I admit I ordered this this doubting its efficiency, and when it arrived I didn’t expect it to work very well. I thought it would be too wide to effectively fill small pots without spilling soil everywhere. I was very surprised to find it worked well filling 4”, 6”, and 8” pots. There was a little spillage of course, but no more really than when using a traditional scoop. Because of the design and how you hold it I would think there would be less strain on your wrists when filling a lot of pots.

What a handy little tool! It's made of a very substantial weight plastic in a pretty shade of green. The scoop allows you to pick up way more soil out of the bag than you could with just an ordinary trowel. It's curved shape conforms to the pot, so it is easier to direct the soil to exactly where you want it. This handy gadget makes gardening so much easier and fun at the same time!

The Tidy pots soil scoop is just as it says - a scoop for soil. It is made of plastic to scoop soil. It has no handle but a curve top edge and you have to have the appropriate size of planting pots to get the benefit of this patented curved design. I wished that it had a straight and flat part on the edge to brush in soil spill to get a second usage. The best part of this tool for me is that it is light in weight and has a bright green color to easily locate.

This awesome little scoop arrived just the other day! I must admit to being excited about Christmas (it arrived on the 24th), but I'm seriously excited about the upcoming spring planting season so I can try this nifty scoop out. First of all let me say how really well made it is! This isn't going to be falling apart or buckling under the weight of a hearty scoop of soil any time. It's solid and it shows when you have it in your hands. And if I need even more reason to like this item...it made in the USA!!! Being able to get an actual decent sized scoop of soil out of the bag this year is going to be exciting!

This is a nice addition to your potting or repotting collection of moving soil from a bag to your pots easier. It allows you to scoop a good amount of soil from the bag into your pot easily. Depending on how loose the soil in your garden is you might be able to use this in it as well if you just got done running your tiller through the garden or flower bed. I really think this better fits moving soil from a bag to a pot as I believe that when I work in my garden I prefer to use a small metal shovel for transplanting vegetable plants from their small starter pots into the garden ground and this it too wide and large for that the way I do it.

What a great potting soil scoop. It has a really nice perforated edge making scooping easy. I use it for placing pea gravel in the bottoms of planting containers, for potting soil scooping, for adding soil to existing plants, and for smoothing soil before planting. All this is done without dirty hands. It’s a real handy scoop. It cleans up well and is a strong well-made heavy-weighted plastic potting soil scoop. I’m very pleased with this scoop.

Smart idea. More useful than I would have thought. The scoop itself is substantially thick, so won't break easily. It is a good size, scoops up much more potting soil than you can with hands or a trowel, and much easier to use than putting a shovel into the bag. I like the curve which is great for getting soil down around the edges when repotting. And the scoop has a couple of serrations on the digging edge, good for breaking up potting soil that might be wet, compacted, or compressed.

This scoop is one of those gardening tools where I ask myself "why didn't I think of that". It is a simple curved piece of plastic with the w built-in handle on one end and a slightly tapered with some serated edges at the other end. This is a wonderful tool for getting soil or planting mix out of a bag in place of a small hand trowel or small plastic cup. The transfer of material from the bag is faster and cleaner as I am not dropping any planting material while transporting. The 9 inch scoop is a great tool for digging up potted plants if the pot is 10 inches or greater in diameter, fitting nicely around the interior of the pot and plenty of strength for digging. Overall, this is a great garden tool that should last along time, see lots of use and easy to store away.

Pleasantly surprised with the effectiveness of this tool. It’s a simple concept with a well thought out design. The plastic is strong/lightweight. It has a thumb dimple to help securely grasp the tool. There is a nice thick ergonomic curved lip that helps you hold the tool and when flipped over it can be used to compact the soil. The curvature of the design helps with soil placement and minimizes soil spillage. There are several teeth at the bottom to help break up those clumps we find in our potting soil. I love plants, bushes and trees and constantly use potting soil to ensure a healthy transition/transplant into our garden/backyard. For the most part I have generally used my hands or a hand trowel to transfer potting soil. The hand trowel is fine except it takes too long in all but the smallest of pots. This potting Soil Scoop is easily equivalent to what I can get with both hands and the equivalent of several hand trowel scoops.

I don't know how I ever lived without this great tool. I spill so much soil when I open a new bag and this clever invention has solved my problem. Using a garden trowel is just a big mess and tidy pots is the way to go. The curved shape is designed to pick up large scoops of soil and then easily place in those hard to reach spaces between plants and the edge of the container.
