Barely worth it for a single bath condo or cabin.
The unit works mostly. It does not have any smart power control but that should be expected in this price range. The unit is not as powerful as it claims. I am using it for a 30 degree rise and it barely handles this at less than 2 gpm. It should be able to do at least 3 gpm on a 30 degree rise according the the supplied documentation. It does supply continuous heat when operating at lower gpm though.
My biggest complaint, however, is the really sub standard brass inlet and outlet for the unit. They appear to have been poorly machined from square stock brass and the threads suffer as a result (see images). It took a significant amount of pipe tape to keep it from leaking and I had to run over the threads with my attachment fittings several times.
final thoughts:
Barely worth it for a single bath condo or cabin, otherwise get a higher quality unit.
I suggest having a flow restrictor just after the unit to control the temperature better, a half open ball valve can accomplish this for simplicity.
a unit with smart power control will be less stressful to your electrical system in the long run, this unit does not have this feature.

Compact unit that works great
Picked up the 8.5 KW 3 gpm unit for a remodel project. The house has one bathroom with sink & shower, and a kitchen sink + dishwasher. This model was perfect for running my setup and did not lack on providing very hot water. We are very pleased with this unit's performance and constant ability to maintain a steady supply of hot water.
