Hello CN, How quiet a toilet is depends on what you consider loud or quiet, so this can be a difficult question to answer. The noise level of the flush can also be influenced by the acoustics of the room. Newer toilets that use less water must be more powerful in order to move the water and waste quickly and efficiently. The Ultramax toilet will have the same flush sound as other toilets that are similar in performance. If you are replacing a much older toilet that uses a lot of water, you may find it to be more loud. If you are replacing something newer, then it may be the same. Think of it like a sports car: A more powerful vehicle will be more loud than a weaker engine. We do take noise level into consideration when designing the toilets, and we try to make sure they are as quiet as possible considering the performance required. Take a look at some of the reviews to see what people are saying about the toilet. We hope that you will give it a try and we thank you for your interest in TOTO!

Hello, The Ultramax II and Carlyle II only differ in the appearance of the bowl. The flushing feature set is the same. You can view spec sheets for all TOTO models on the TOTO USA website. I hope this is helpful and thank you for your interest in TOTO!
Honestly, you wouldn't have to. It has a very powerful flush. We were surprised at the power.
If you see a WaterSense label on a toilet it's a water efficient product that meets EPA criteria. Uses at least 20% less water and save energy. UltraMax II is a WaterSense labeled toilet.
The water & sewer connections are standardized across brands of toilets, so you can remove the old one and replace it with a new one of any brand. It really is a pretty quick swap from old to new.
