Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender Adapter

The TP link extender is super easy to install - basically just plug into the wall and install it on the app. I like that there is an ethernet port to give you an option of connecting it to a device. I also like that the signals on the device are clear and tells you which one is having problems. The extender is not too bulky, but you will need some space if you wanted to use it with other outlets. My internet was always terrible and the connection keeps dropping. To be honest I haven't had this product long enough to know that it permanently made it better, but so far my tv hasn't disconnected. Normally it drops every couple of days, but it has been a week now. It is looking promising.

After several attempts at trying to get this connected, and contacting TP-Link support, I was unable to get this to work. Therefore, I can't recommend this product based on my experience. The instructions included were very clear and there weren't many steps in getting this connected. I'm disappointed that this didn't work out. I will continue to play around with it to see if I can eventually get it to work.

My experience with this WiFi range extender was good for extending signal deeper into my yard. After a week of use, I have decided that this could be handy for adding SOME signal to a dead area inside/outside of the house. My situation was that my kids wanted to stream videos in the yard but the place we tried it was downhill and outside of a cement plank sided house. The signal dropped with current WiFi. I had a reasonable time connecting it to my WiFi system of a different brand and then relocating the extender to a wall on the highest floor nearest the outside area that I wanted to add signal. The test was successful (mostly). Like other extenders I have had, this one requires you to connect to the _EXT version of your router, so managing the extender vs. main WiFi on portable devices is not frictionless. On the spot we currently had no WiFi signal, I was able to stream video on the tablet. It works. However it was touchy and the signal dropped if I tried to click through videos or connect another device. The signal failed as soon as I connected my phone to the _EXT signal and attempted to run a signal speed test. It does connect right to a outlet as an all-in-one extender. It has a few blue lights that may be too bright if used in a bedroom and the preference if a dark room. It does have a LAN cable connection that I believe can be used to connect a wired Ethernet cable to a WiFi signal (did not test). I will plan to use this more as the weather gets nicer if the guests and family are having trouble connecting to WiFi in the backyard.

TP-Link WIFI 6 Range Extender is working great. I used the Tether app from apple store and it was very easy to link on my iPhone. Once linked the blue light flashes, give it a minute and then it will go to a solid blue. I now need to get one for the lower level and we will be all set. We have had it installed for a week and we have not had one issue on streaming on the main floor.

This white TP-Link model # RE505X WIFI 6 range extender, dual band 2.4 and 5.0, was able to effectively improve my WIFI signal and eliminate the WIFI dead zone on my outdoor patio deck. The extender is self-contained comes complete with two short high-gain moveable antennas. It basically is ready to be pared with my Internet router right out of the box. I simply followed the manufacturer’s instructions by initially plugging in the extender into my house’s 120-volt electrical out near my Internet router so they could be pared together. At the same time, I downloaded the free Tether app on my smartphone from the App Store. I followed the instructions on the app and was able to electronically link the WIFI extender to my Internet router. During the installation, I did have some technical questions, so I used the live chat feature on the www.tp-link.com/support website, or you can ask you questions in person by calling their toll free 866-225-8139 technical support telephone number. Before installing this extender, you should have your password available that you use on your Internet router as you will need it for the extender. Also, make sure to activate the 5.0 signal feature on your Internet router, if you have this feature, before you begin your WIFI extender installation as you will be prompted to activate the 5.0 band on your extender if you have it. Once the WIFI extender is correctly installed, you will have solid blue indicator lights light up to show that the WIFI extender is working properly. All in all, this great WIFI extender helped me so solve my WIFI dead spot on my patio deck!

Installation was nice and easy. I sometimes experience problems with "plug and play" electronics trying to install. That was not the case with this. Instructions give three different methods to install (as well as a work-around in case of an issue), and the simplest method worked in one try. My router runs both 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands and both connected properly. I went from minimal to full signal strength with extender with my phone placed in the same location. Made in Vietnam.

Easy to setup, but I didn’t see that much of a difference.

Wasn’t sufficient enough internet for all the items I needed. You can’t change the password to be your own.
