Q:The website shows SKU 384815 as a very red medium weight rosin paper. I make the trip to my local store and the SKU says 384815 but, in fact, that product is a much less red heavyweight paper. Why can I not type my whole question? I have lots more to sa

Q:Im planning to use it as a dust barrier over the Rocksul insulation in the workshop roof (which is 100 years old and should not have a vapour barrier). Do mice like this product? Hope not as would love to use a recycled product. Thanks

A:  This is more designed for temporary covering. Since it is just paper, I'm sure mice will love it.  We used it to cover the  barn door trim on our shed when we painted it.

      Q:Can this be used as weed barrier (under mulch) in garden? I used regular brown painters paper last year and was only moderately impressed. Hoping this heavier weight will last/prevent weeds better but unsure if the rosin means that it won't compost after?

      A:  I’m not sure, I only have use this product for protection on floors that we’ve installed. I do know that we haven’t had any paint go through it like we’ve had with other paper products used to protect floors.  To answer your question I would buy a roll and cut a piece off and spray it down with water with mulch and see how it does. Let me know how it turns out.  The only other options you have are in the garden center they make a heavy duty weed barrier it’s really thick I just bought a roll of that to see how it does.

          A:  It's not at all suitable for weed prevention. It's a heavy paper infiltrated with some sort of resin. It is used to protect floors during construction. I recommend the cloth mesh for weed prevention. It works well and doesn't need replacement every season.

            Used as underlayment for 3/4in solid hardwood floors.
            Worked great. Obviously not waterproof. You can tell by the feel of the stuff that it's not waterproof. It's just paper with I guess a little bit of rosin in it on it whatever.
