A:  There is a cat door, but they might suffocate. It is not that big to lock them in. We purchased this for a stray that like to stay outside so he can get out of the rain.

A:  I think it’s wood, hard to tell because it is painted or stained and I can see the wood grain thru it. Yes also painted/stained inside.

A:  Hello ju, The hinged door has a Plexiglas middle, it is not a flap, and can be locked with a barrel lock. There is an additional 2 way cat flap door in the back that is the same as the one in the front right of the item for an alternative exit. We do not recommend using a heat lamp. If anything we recommend using a heating pad that has 30 watts or less for power. Thank you for your question.

A:  yes, the cat doors (there are two) both open in both directions...yes both doors have a stiff, plastic door that is hinged at the top and will swing in or out when pushed by the cat....it isn't big enough for multiple cats but will fit two who are friends
