Answer This Question
A:Â Sounds like you are not using a hammer drill. Â A hammer drill will make it last much longer, otherwise the heat will dull it faster

Answer This Question
A:Â No, you can not because this drill bit is for concrete only used in a hammer drill !!
by|Mar 31, 2021
A:Â Yes you can drill into a 2x4 with this bit, but your best choice would be a standard wood bit as this is a masonry bit for concrete, brick, etc. The wood bit will also give you cleaner drilled
hole.

Fresh bits are a time saver
I use Tapcon fasteners for all my concrete applications. I buy fresh bits for different jobs. The cleaner the hole, the better the grip. Fresh bits make the task easier.

Tapcon ALWAYS
I have used Tapcon fasteners for years. I always like to use fresh bits when drilling into poured concrete. After all, the hold it much better with properly drilled pilot holes. Many of the larger pack screws have a bit included however I feel a fresh bit is needed to finish all the fasteners in the package.

Not performing as it should be!!
Got this to drill 8 holes on tile/ concrete to install a handrail for my stair with 1/4 in. x 3-1/4 in. Hex-Washer-Head Concrete Anchors as recommended. About the 4th holes with my hammer drill, the bit tip is completely gone, had to go get another one to finish the job, the 2nd bit didn't work well when I get to the 8th hole.
Finally get all 8 holes drill, clean the holes with compressed air, try to install the screw, but it was so tight that I can barely screw it in about 1-1/2", and when I try to go further, it cracked my porch tile!!
Now I need to find a way to make the holes a bit wider in order to fit the screws without further damage my porch's tile!!

This drill bit did the job I purchased a cement block and wanted to keep a cactus statue on it. I drilled through the cement with this proper drill bit. It gets hot due to friction so let it cool between holes. Worked great!
