Can I use this bit to drill into a 2x4?

Answer

Yes you can drill into a 2x4 with this bit, but your best choice would be a standard wood bit as this is a masonry bit for concrete, brick, etc. The wood bit will also give you cleaner drilled hole.

Will this bit work with a standard drill

not worth it
dull dull dull. spent 15 minutes trying to go through brick with it. Gave up and got another brand bit. Finished the first hole and did a second hole in literally seconds. This bit is a waste of money.

This Tapcon masonry bit worked perfectly with the Tapcon screws we used to attach a Murphy bed to a brick wall. The bit penetrated the bricks with no problem and left a hole the right size for the screws to hold the bed tightly to the wall. Don't settle for other brands of bits when using the Tapcon masonry screws!
