I just opened this three-pack after receiving it back in June and found leaking cans! This is not the first time this has happened… in fact, I think this is the replacement package for THAT leaking three pack! While I love this paint when it works, the fact that this has happened twice already has me rethinking purchasing from Home Depot.

I never received the paint and never received the promised refund (“give it 5-7 business days”, I was told). I was sent the wrong paint TWICE, with my refund held until I returned what I hadn’t ordered (their mistake not mine!) the first time. Generally speaking, customer service is very pleasant but it’s a 50/50 shot at getting someone who actually follows through or even knows how to handle a customer complaint. All told, I’ve spent over four hours trying to get the two orders fixed and I still haven’t gotten the issues all resolved. Because of this horrible experience, I likely will never again order anything from Home Depot on line again. I’ve attached a photo of what I received instead of the Testors Wet Look Clear Lacquer.

I do not recommend this product. I purchased this for scale model use and spraying straight from the can produces a horrible finish. The clear is so aerated that it introduces massive amounts of air bubbles. In short, the finish looks like white foam. It’s unusable straight from the can. The only way I could use this product is to decant it and spray it through my airbrush. Then I get better results.

This helps ensure that any settled solids are thoroughly mixed. When spraying, hold the can approximately 10-12" inches from the surface and apply light, even coats. We do not recommend decanting aerosol products, as they are formulated and tested for direct application from the can. Decanting may affect performance and can create safety concerns due to the release of solvents and propellants. Model paint posing as spray paint

Horrible paint ! Took 3 bottles to cover a section of plywood 2 ×3 foot section and still bleed through. Testers was a good brand for model buildings but for home use its not. How did this get through home depot quality control is beyond me!

Each can has a recommended coverage of up to 5 square feet, depending on the condition of the surface. For larger projects, we recommend Rust-Oleum Specialty Lacquer Spray instead. When painting a porous surface, like plywood, we do recommend priming to help with coverage as well.
