can I use this bracket on PVC fence post?

can I use this bracket on PVC fence post?
Asked by: JOHN
This product worked beautifully on my wood fence post. It comes with screws to attach it to metal fence post I think if the pvc fence post is dense enough, it should work. It comes with 3 5/16 × 3in lag screws for wood attachment. You can go to , thefixafence.com for additional info...

Yes, just keep the center of post lined up with the center of the bracket holes. I’ve done 4 like this. No problem and very strong.

I hate the color. I gather I could paint this? Second, how does this compare to using just a redwood post in new concrete bolted to the original post? Seems like a lot of the fence repair people want to use this route, but theoretically you end up with the same problem in the long run: water seepage into the post and in eight years you are back to square one. Also any thoughts about this compared to EZ fence (the Simpson tie you hammer in)? Repair folks want $150 per post. These two approaches seem the most logical with the longest duration
Asked by: Pats
Yes, you can paint it. My neighbors used the new post method a few months ago and while their fence only rocks a little when their boxer leans on it, mine doesn't when my 2 german shepherds do the same thing. So I am still happy with the purchase about a year later. No idea about the EZ fence.

Is this strong enough to support an entire panel. My fence has already snapped, so I would need 2, so I can use the existing panel and secure it against the broken fence posts.
Asked by: boxgrove
Some of my posts were rotted off. These did the job.

However, the new design feels not as solid as the original one. The anchor (black) section is noticeably cheaper and thinner. The connection between anchor and brace is using a bolt, instead of direct screwing on like the original one. This new connection point is much smaller and weaker. It will get loose and deformed over time. Please bring back the original design!

The metal is not perfectly rigid and it gives/flexes much more than a new fence post would give. So, it's not a perfect design but it did hold up my fence in 50 mile per hour winds. So overall, I'm happy with the product.

I had a fence that was leaning pretty significantly but not because of broken or rotting posts. I have a gradual slope along my fence line and after a few years of rain, wind, and the ground continuing to shift, my fence was struggling to stay upright. I bought and installed 6 Fix-A-Fence Brackets on 6 of my posts. The process was relatively easy--digging the 18" deep holes through clay soil was the most difficult part of the task. It took only two days to complete the job and I was pretty pumped at how much it improved the look of my fence--it honestly looks like I installed a new fence! I highly recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy duty Still very attractive, I really like having the ability to place in the ground and pour concrete or drilling and placing on old Concrete with a wedge anchor ( or flush mount if desired ). I had both situations and it worked extremely well. Very solid. The bolt on design also allows you to remove it in the future should you need. I really don’t think I will ever need to replace the post after installing these.

Requires a bit of elbow grease, but the finished product is sound, sturdy and professional. Just recently installed my first one and will install more as the situation presents itself. Definitely meets and/or exceeds all my expectations. Beats the heck out of replacing a 4x4 post that is cemented in and broken off at ground level.

First, I would like to say that this product is surely a great way to mend a fence without the expense of tearing out the 4x4 post and having to possibly replace the cedar pickets as well. Secondly, compared to other 'mending fence options', the Fix-A-Fence is a unique idea and works well for mending a wobbly 4x4 post. I installed them in a slightly different way from the step by step procedure that is provided in the package when you receive them. I dug the hole slightly larger than what is recommended. The holes that I dug measure a little over 8” in diameter and 20” in depth. By digging hole larger, I was able to use a 8” concrete tube. The concrete tubes come in 4’ lengths. As such, I cut the 4’ concrete tube 20” in length. By cutting it 20” allowed me to have the concrete flow under and around the black pipe on the Fix-A-Fence product to actually encase the black-colored portion of system totally in concrete. When setting the Fix-A-Fence in place and aligning it with a level, I fastened it loosely to the base of the post with one of the lag screws provided. By fastening the Fix-A-Fence ‘loosely’ at the base using the bottom hole, allowed me to better align the system and keep it in place while pouring in the concrete. Two to three days later I secured the base lag and installed two others in the two remaining holes. The existing 4 x 4 post is there to stay!!! Attached you will find several pictures of my installation.
