Hi Tami! We have not tested that application for this product but it is likely it would work in that scenario. We also have a paper weed barrier in the garden section if you are looking for a more sustainable alternative to fabric barriers.

I have used this for real hardwood underlayment in upstairs rooms not over concrete. It is way cheaper than the linked stuff in the other answer. And you dont want the vapor barrier for real hardwood (not over concrete) as it needs to breathe.

However, we would recommend using our Heavy Duty Floor Protection instead because it is a thicker paper and will be more durable for heavier traffic. It is 20 Mil thick versus 9 Mil thick.
