When was new material scraper bar released? I just bought this snow blower this weekend. I tried it out and get "blowback"! This not a trail but forced trail of pressurized snow blowing at my feet! On a flat surface the scraper bar touches at the outside edges and center but not between these surfaces. Called Toro this morning for help and all I got was go to an authorized dealer for repair or purchase a new scraper. WHAT - this is a one day old machine. Anyone else have this condition?
Asked by: mbg
I took a straight edge to the scraper bar and it was concave with about 1/4" gap in the center - no wonder it was blowing snow on my feet! HD was excellent they told me to just come in and exchange it for a new one. I took the straight edge with and at first I said "oh-no" this one had a convex scraper, but, then I thought maybe it's designed this way to make a good seal once the weight of the maching was on it. Took it home and this one cleans to the pavement and no snow on my boots. Love everything about this snowblower but especially the ease to adjust the shoot out and angle.

Does it come with a cord for electric start or is that separate

Asked by: TD
The snow blower does not come with a cord for the electric start. You simply use an electrical extension cord that you have or you can always buy a separate extension cord. I purchased the electric start model in case my wife wanted to use the snow blower. She has used it but simply used the manual pull start - it is very easy.

Power Clear 721 QZE 21 in. 212cc Single-Stage Gas Snow Blower is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 207.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE Toro Power Clear 721 QZE. I am... I LOVE Toro Power Clear 721 QZE. I am so glad we paid the additional money for this model with the upgraded chute pivot and angle features. Here in Michigan we just had a couple of snow storms back to back and this monster plowed right through it. The first storm dropped around 5 inches and the second around 7 inches. Two neighbors were asking what kind it was because I just zipped through the snow. The only bummer is that the left handle screw came loose and fell off. I am hoping to find it when the snow melts :) Also, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and really need a snow blower that I could handle well. This Toro exceeded my expectations.

I was a little leery about buying a single stage snow blower living in northern Wisconsin, but so far so good. This thing even cleared the end of the driveway after a 7" snowfall and the plow went by! The machine is so easy to start, that I doubt I will use the electric start. This is also the first snow blower my wife can use, which is very helpful since I travel quite a bit. I highly recommend this product!

I had to return the first snow blower that was shipped to my house because it was damaged (handle was all bent). I called customer service and they arranged for a replacement snow blower to be shipped to my local store (because I didn't want to have to wait at home again in order to receive my order for a second time), but I had to return the damaged snow blower to my local store for a refund, which I did. A week later, when I received the text indicating that my replacement snow blower was available for pick up, I drove all the way back to the Home Depot to pick it up. I took it straight home and began to assemble it. To my absolute dismay I quickly realized that it had also been damaged (either in storage or shipping) and the handle was all bent! Once again, I had to drive all the way back to Home Depot in order to return the second snow blower! I ended up buying the same model snow blower from a local retailer in my town for the same price, which I picked up in perfect condition 

I ordered a Toro Power Clear 721 QZE in December because of favorable reviews. My unit was delivered to my local store and I requested that the unit be assembled. I picked up the unit without inspecting it closely, only to find when I arrived home that the handle was not aliened straight. The handle tipped from left to right, with a drop of about 1.5 inches. I took the unit back to my local store. The local store confirmed the problem, and reordered the unit. Yesterday, I went to pick up the replacement unit. When I inspected the unit, it had the exact same issue with the handle. Both the store staff and myself are not sure if the problem of the handle not being aliened straight is related to shipping damage, or if it's related to Toro's manufacturing process. My third machine will ship shortly. Many thanks to Jeff at the Home Depot in Appleton, WI for being there to help. Home Depot online agreed to inspect this third unit prior to shipment, thus we should know the full story soon.

Finally got a chance to use it after a recent snowstorm. Must say I was impressed. Rain changing to snow left about 3 inches of slush covered in 6 inches of snow. It powered through it all.

The biggest issue I've had with snowblowers over the last 22 years of living in a city in an area with 40 inches annual snowfall is clearing what the plows leave. Any snowblower will clear powder at below-freezing temps; the slush thrown by plows, not so much. And I like to clear the 0.35 miles each way where my wife and I walk our dog and the sidewalk on our block is adjacent to the street and not separated by a park strip, so this is a real problem. There's a man who clears my neighbor's drive with a Toro and I've watched him the last three years blow through what the plow leaves, so this year I took a chance and bought one. This thing rocks! Yes, I've had to push a little when the slush is especially heavy and, yes, .35 miles is a long slog and it would be nice to have more drive power, but the point is this 721 throws plow slush. No more shoveling what my 2-stage Ariens 724E (7 hp, 24 inch) couldn't throw without clogging, and clog it did... not so the Toro. The other complaint I have is that, it likes to pull to the left when driving down the block... but is very lightweight and easy to maneuver, maneuverability being the trade for powered wheels. Pulling to the left being the worst thing about it so far, count me extremely pleased.
