Purchased this model to replace a Toro personal pace mower that I owned for 25+ years. I have had good luck with Toro lawn mowers so I didn't hesitate to purchase the brand again. The SmartStow feature is what attracted me to this model. Storage space is always a premium for most of us. The SmartStow is easy to use and it saves space as advertised. The SmartStow also makes it very easy to wash the under carriage when done. I prefer the Personal Pace feature over the variable speed for ease of use. The Personal Pace eliminates having to manage a second leveler. Easy starting is another reason I chose a Toro again. I look forward to many years of maintenance free service from my new Toro.

Instructions, especially the quick start page, not complete if you're a dummy like me. It said to add the oil. I poured the whole bottle in. It said to let the mower stand a few minutes, then check the oil level. I did. It was overfilled. The main owners manual says to not overfill the oil. It also says to run the engine to use up all the gas before tipping the mower to empty the oil. BAH! I tipped the mower anyway and that took care of the excess oil. Have had the mower about a week. It starts well. The speed control is a little weird to get used to, but works pretty well. You have to pull up a little safety gate to actually collect clippings in the rear bag.

Had my previous Personal Pace lawn mower for 14 years, never changed oil and changed air filter once. Never had a problem. Decided to purchase a new one and keep my old as spare, and figured I would stick with Toro since I had success with my old one. After less than a year, back rear wheel fell off. Tried screwing back on but within 10 minutes fell off again. NOT HAPPY!! The thing is, when I first took out of the box, I was instantly able to see the less than stellar quality. Plastic parts by wheels was a giveaway. I should've took back and purchased the Honda right then and there. But decided that I would stick with it. Wrong decision. Do not purchase as quality of Toro is not what it once was. Very disappointed. Hoping Home Depot customer service will allow me to get money back or exchange for different brand. Will pick Honda for my next one.

It started on the first pull (I took the picture right after it started) and was much better handling my tall grass than my old one and makes it a bit easier to do the hills. I think I'm going to be happy with this. But one comment - I didn't realize until after the first use that I was supposed to put the entire bottle of oil provided with the mower in the mower. I probably put in about half and I think the mower is ok, but after the first use, I saw that the level was almost dry. I looked at the bottle to find the size. That's when I saw the note on the bottle to put the entire bottle in the first time. There was a note on the oil to put oil in up to the full level. It would have been more useful if it said the whole bottle should go into it.

It started on about the third pull. Has no primer but starts on first or second pull each weekend. The first down mark I give it at this time is it does not like bouncy yards. It hit a small pothole and it acts as if it wants to die. If you are paying attention and slow down a second of two it will continue to run. If not it will die, but then restart on first pull. The second down mark is that you have to be careful how full you fill the gas tank. Too much and it spots gas out and makes it heck to start if it has too much gas in it.

Brought this Toro mower home, took it out of the box, added gas and oil, started it up on the first pull. The drive did not work. I "owned" this for all of one hour. Took it back to Home Depot and bought a Honda. All cables for the drive on the Toro were attached. It just didn't function.

The one I was using is a push mower and I was desperately in need of something that I could use on the hill in my backyard. This baby does the trick and is a lifesaver. After filling with oil and gas it started on the first pull. I no longer dread cutting the grass, it’s a joy. The plus is that it is easy to clean and stows perfectly against the wall of my small one car garage.

I have used this mower about five times since purchasing it and I am pleased with it so far. The grass looks great after being cut (nice clean cut) and it doesn't leave clumps on the lawn. If you use the mulch setting the grass pieces are blown off to the side and they may blow back on you if it is a very windy day. Otherwise, the grass clippings are distributed evenly off to the side. This mower is easy to move forward as it responds to your gait and making turns is easier than I expected once I started tilting the mower on it's back wheels when going into the turn. Starts in one or two pulls. It's a little hard to maneuver when trying to angle through a curve but that's to be expected. I would recommend this mower.
