Questions & Answers

Will these fit a Rubbermaid 32 gal trash can with locking lid?

Asked by Darp October 6, 2020

Toter Replacement Wheel Kits are made exclusively for Toter brand two-wheel (trash can) carts, and we cannot warrant them for use on any other brand carts. If it is helpful, we can tell you that the 32-gallon Toter Replacement Wheel Kit has 8-inch diameter wheels, and the axle is 16 inches long and 5/8ths inches in diameter.

why in the world does this kit cost almost as much as the bin?

Asked by John May 22, 2020

The wheel kit, as a separate product, must also be packaged in its own package, handled, warehoused, marketed, sold and shipped--an entire process chain. A common analogy is to imagine how much it would cost to buy a car if the parts were purchased separately at retail and then assembled.

I am looking for 6" diameter wheels with a 0.35" diameter axle. Does your company carry this?

Asked by kelly January 5, 2020

No, we do not. All of our wheel kits include either 8" or 10" wheels with a 5/8" axle.

how long is the axel? what is the diameter of the wheel?

Asked by Tom August 4, 2019

Thank you for choosing Toter for your waste needs. The axle on the 32 Gallon 2 wheeled cart is 16 x 5/8" and the wheels are 8" wheels. Please feel free to contact us if you have any more questions!

Complete kit including all parts. Realized that it would have been impractical to try and re-use the old axle caps. Assembly with all new parts was MUCH easier and quicker. Although, Toter apparently no longer makes the 26-gal unit that I have, the 32-gal wheel kit fit OK with the addition of a small (1.4") spacer to keep the wheels from sliding slightly side-to-side. Very happy with the end result.

The end caps didn’t come off as easily as advertised. Had to use a crowbar to get it off. Otherwise fine.

Sorry you had such difficulty with the cap nuts. Customers usually tell us they come off too easily. If you ever need wheel cap nuts, Toter provides them free to customers of our two-wheel (trash can) carts. Please call Toter customer service at 800-424-0422 then choose option 2 for retail customers. ToterAnswers

Toter Replacement Wheel Kits are designed and warranted solely for Toter-brand (trash can) carts. We're sorry if this was not clear on our product page, and for your inconvenience. ToterAnswers

The product was as described and quality is like original. The replacement went easy.My issue is that I had to buy the entire kit when I only needed one wheel. Why isn’t this available by individual parts? I think it would be rare to have the entire wheel assembly fail or breakall at the same time.
