Steak Rub

The Traeger 13.5 oz Steak Rub is delicious. The pepper, salt, garlic and butter blend really compliments a steak on the grill. I also tried it on a shaved steak with onions and mushrooms on the stovetop. The granules are coarse and quite tasteful. I think the seasoning would work well on chicken, pork and vegetables. If you enjoy well-seasoned food, you will like this rub.

Excellent and easy steak rub

This is an excellent steak rub. Lots of different spices and gives the meat a great flavor. Most of the time I just use salt and pepper, but the Traeger steak rub is a good way to change things up without making it too complicated. The seasoning is coarse and you don't need too much to cover. This container will last me a while, and i will likely refill it afterwards. So glad i tried it!

Delicious and flavorful

Traeger steak rub is full of all the spices you’d expect to enjoy on a steak. Just imagine bursts of flavor with heavy onion notes and a hint of heat as you enjoy your meal. The container is easy to open, has two sides one for more of a light cover and another for a heavier pour. We enjoyed this on some tri-tip that we grilled, and thought it brought the flavor. This steak rub is very flavorful but the initial smell upon opening the spice container is a bit overpowering so be prepared. But ya I’d say be generous with your sprinkling and enjoy!

All in one steak rub

This bottle of steak rub is a generous size of 13.5 oz. It has semi coarse bits of pepper, salt, garlic and butter. Also contains dill seeds. Good way to season meats prior to grilling. I always put a light coat of of on to make the rub adhere. Label states zero calories for 1/4 teaspoon as the serving size. With that measurement it states the bottle contains enough for 392 servings. Traeger is a trusted brand for grills.

Coarse mix, nice bite from the pepper, tasted great on a burger!

We tested this on a burger and found it tasty with a slight bite, all good. This mix has a nice, coarse blend of black pepper, garlic, and salt with butter flakes mixed in for more flavor. The butter melted in during cooking. The flavor that stood out the most was the large bits of black pepper. This mix will probably work well on pork, chicken, and even on an egg for breakfast. Try it, you'll like it.

Tastes great, and much easier than self made

Since a home made steak rub takes a lot of time and ingredients, I've tried several ready made rubs from different brands over the years. This Traeger Steak Rub is very easy to use and it makes the steak taste great. I noticed that the rub also seams to help the browning process, as the steak doesn't only taste great, but also looks great. What else can you hope for from a steak rub?

Nice blend, good flavor, a little heavy on the salt

This is the first time I've used a pre-made rub. I usually season my steak with a similiar combination just using seasoning i have on hand. It was convenient to use, and had a nice flavor. To me, it is a little heavy on the salt content. I prefer the other seasoning like garlic and pepper to have the stronger overall taste on my steak, but the rub tasted very salty to me. I would use it again, but add more season to make the salty taste less predominant. If you like heavy salt flavor, you will love this rub.
