Can I install this over epoxy floor in basement?

Asked by Levi October 18, 2020

Good morning Levi. Thank you for reaching out with your question. Yes this can be installed over an epoxy floor. You will want to make sure the epoxy floor is secure with no loose spots, and it needs to be clean and free of any dirt, debris, polish, or wax. It should also be flat and smooth. I recommend testing with a tile before installing the entire floor to make sure it sticks. Sometimes because of how smooth and epoxy floor can be you need to roughen up the surface slightly to get a good hold with the new flooring. Here is a link to our installation instructions. https://sforce.co/34bzxIg I hope this information is helpful. Have a great day.

Can I stick it on the wood stairs? Will it be slippery if water falls on it?

Good morning Sam. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. Yes, this flooring can be installed on stairs. We don't have trim pieces available for the installation so you will need to use a standard stair trim to finish the front of the stair tread. I hope this information is helpful. Have a great day.

Why cant the tile be laid over existing tile in basement?

Good morning. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. We don't recommend installing over below grade tile because of the increased chance of flooring failure. Basement floors are more prone to moisture issues, so installing another floor on top slows the exhausting of moisture and can cause the new flooring to come loose. This is an issue that would not be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. I hope this information is helpful. Have a great day.

I would go with the space heater idea. However, you may have a problem with the tiles sticking to the flood in your shed. I would suggest additional adhesive to insure an easier installation and to insure that the tiles continue to stick to the floor. You can ask your flooring specialist at Home Depot to pick out the proper adhesive.

Good morning Miriam. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. There are 30 pieces of flooring per carton for a total of 30 square feet. I hope this information is helpful. Have a great day.

is the tile waterproof? or water resistant?

Asked by Melanie June 18, 2020

Answers

Good morning Melanie. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. This flooring is water resistant. Water will not penetrate the surface of the flooring, and it is safe to use in bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens. Topical water will not impact the flooring. A flooded situation could cause the flooring to fail. I hope this information is helpful. Have a great day.

can I install on top of existing tile?

Asked by Shelley April 11, 2020

Answers

Good afternoon. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. We hope you are staying safe during this uncertain time. This flooring can be installed over existing ceramic or vinyl tile. Over ceramic, the ceramic must be firmly bonded, clean, dry and dust-free. Check for cracks, scaling, levelness, and other damage. Grout lines and other texture on the ceramic will need to be leveled with S-184 Patch & Skim Coat or S-194 Patch, Underlayment & Embossing Leveler mixed with the S-195 Underlayment Additive. Over vinyl, the existing flooring must be fully glued down, clean and free of waxes and polishes, and flat and smooth. Any texturing will need to be smoothed over with S-194 Patch, Underlayment & Embossing Leveler mixed with the S-195 Underlayment Additive. Here is a link to our installation instructions for this floor. https://sforce.co/2xtDpGK I hope this information is helpful. Have a great day.

I haven't even finished the bathroom and the tiles that are laid down are already peeling. The grey wood grain finish peeled in the middle of the tile and nothing was scraped or dropped on it. Not a good quality flooring. I wouldn't buy these again. Kind of glad I haven't finished the job yet. Going to take the unopened box back to the store. Find another brand hope if they are better. Glad I didn't waste all the tiles before needing to return them. What a waste of time energy and money.

Response from Armstrong FlooringSeptember 21, 2020
Good morning Ellie. It is important for us to hear feedback from our customers, and we thank you for taking the time to post your review. We apologize for the inconvenience; it is our aim to provide quality products and services to our customers and to meet your expectations. The surface layer on the tile should not be coming off of the flooring. It sounds as though you may have a bad batch on tile. All of our floors are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, we recommend you return to the store and have a flooring associate file a claim on your behalf. Again, I do apologize for any inconvenience, and I hope this is helpful. Have a great day. Armstrong
