Hello, Trewax is not designed to work on concrete, and so we have never tested it for that purpose. If the concrete is sealed, Trewax paste wax will work in the same way that it does on any other hard, non-porous surface. We cannot say how it will perform on untreated or partially treated concrete. If you choose to use it, please test on a small inconspicuous spot first. Please also keep in mind that there is a very real possibility that Trewax will be extremely difficult to remove from unsealed concrete once it has dried. Thanks, The Trewax Team

Answer

I use this on refinished furniture. It works fine on lightly used wood surfaces, but you won't be happy with the results on stair treads. It will wear quickly and allow dirt into the wood pores. If you want to wax stairs that are already varnished, regular floor wax is easier to apply and polish.

Is it slippery? How do you apply to floor?

Asked by JB September 19, 2017

Answer

The Trewax Paste Wax will put a protected coat on your floor. The best way to apply the wax is putting the can in some hot tap water to soften it up. There is an applicator inside the can for you to apply the Paste Wax. Once it starts to haze up you will want to start buffing. To buff you can use an old white t-shirt. Answer

Yes the Trewax Clear Paste Wax can be used on your vanity. The water spotting will show on the wax. If you are trying to put a protected coat on the vanity I would use a satin poly. that will protect it from any water spotting. If you need further information please contact us at Beaumont Products, Inc. 800-451-7096 or email us at customerservice@beaumontproducts.com.

Tell me, please, how to apply paste wax to hardwood floor? What tools do I need for applying?

Asked by Ilya February 16, 2017
1
Answer

The Trewax Paste Wax has an applicator in the container. You might want to soften the wax prior to use by letting it sit in a hot water bath. The hot water will soften the wax enough to apply. For the application you can use the applicator or old white t-shirts. Once it starts getting hazy you will want to start buffing it off. If you need further information please contact us at Beaumont Products, Inc. 800-451-7096 or email us at customerservice@beaumontproducts.com.

Answer

Yes the Trewax Paste Wax is not food safe but would work perfect for your wood art. The finish is up to you the more you buff the shinier it will be.Your colors should be dry completely before adding the wax so there should not be any running. If you need further information please contact us at Beaumont Products, Inc. 800-451-7096 or email us at customerservice@beaumontproducts.com.

The Trewax was applied to an oak hardwood floor. The floor had two coats of Danish oil first, to seal the wood. The wax was fairly easy to apply. The result was shiny and a slight amount of yellowing. The finish was nice and hard after completing. It took most of a can to do about 300 sq. ft. the first time. The second coat used about half a can. My only complaint is that some of the applicator marks could not be buffed out. I had applied the wax using a circular motion, and from up close I could still see some of the swirl marks after using an electric buffer for a minute or so. I'm not sure whether this is because I was applying the wax too thick or not thick enough. While walking on the floor it is not noticeable, but only when on one's hands and knees.

This put a thin coat of wax on a floor that I wasn't able to seal with polyurethane. Has been about a month since applied. It's a high traffic area and I'm very happy with how well it's holding up.
