Hello Lynn, Great question! The front slat on The Yacht Club 48in. Bench is 2.9" tall. -Fasteners: Use wood screws between 1/4 and 1/2 inches long. Always consider the thickness of both the lumber and the plaque. -Avoid edges: To prevent cracks, place screws at least 1/4 inch away from the edges of Genuine POLYWOOD™ lumber. Leave Adequate Space: Make sure to leave a 1/4" space at the top and bottom of the plaque, as well as on all sides of each screw hole, including the depth. This spacing helps prevent cracking of the POLYWOOD material. Choose the Right Screws: Use the smallest wood screws that are appropriate for the size of the bracket or plaque you're attaching. The screws should be half the depth of the POLYWOOD material you're fastening into. This is important to avoid cracking. Attach the Plaque: Secure the plaque by carefully screwing it into place.
