How do I install this on a Stihl 039 with a 20 inch bar? Gordon

It's quite easy to install on any size, any brand of chainsaws.Make sure you have plenty of time to sharpen your blades. It takes approximately 10 minutes to install the first time. After that it only takes seconds. Be sure to file towards the bar and not backwards as this will flatten the sharpening edge of your file and will no longer work properly.

I've had a bar-mount sharpener like this for over 35 years, and it still works great. There is absolutely nothing else that compares to it. You can set the angle of the pitch, the angle up and down (5 - 20 degrees) the height of the file stroke so you don't cut into the gullet, and it takes only seconds to set up. There are also chain guides that you can tighten to hold the chain from wobbling. This price is $90 less it's closest competition that doesn't have all these options.

Very difficult to set up, I tried for 39 minutes and figured I could of had my saw sharpened using a round file by then. Not very good directions on setting it up and I'm pretty good at figuring things out but this was frustrating and I'm returning it

Miserable Sharpener
It will not fit snugly on the bar of a Husqvarna 450, keeps loosening. And when you do get it to stay put it does not glide smoothly through the cheap plastic housing. All in all it's a miserable sharpener that is going back today.

Takes a lot of patience
I cannot recommend this product. I bought it just the other day and sharpened two chains with it. Pros: It is economical. I can get the job done but it requires a lot of patience. If you are in a rush, do the best for can with just a file and leave this sharpener in the shop. Cons: It is cheap. If you are a man and have man-sized hands, it will be difficult to tighten the two small adjusting screws. When sharpening the left bits of the chain, the "catch" is too close the file and will interfere with sharpening. The span for the file is about 1/4" too long making it difficult for the tool to maintain the clamps on the file.

Works well enough, not cost effective
The instructions were difficult to understand, but it seemed like this tool would do what it claims. I sharpened about 3 teeth out of 40 in 15 minutes. I decided to return this product and but a new chaim instead of spending several houra sharpening.
