This thing won’t start
Biggest piece of junk being sold. Do not buy at any cost. This thing is the hardest mower I’ve ever seen to start.
If they were giving these away I wouldn’t take it.

Reliable powerful mower

Wheel broke after a few months of use!
I can't believe I bought this in April and only used it in May and already the back wheel split and is wobbling off the mower. Must be made super cheap can't find any web address to send a picture or complaint for warranty work.

We were tired of buying products not made in the USA— so we bought a Troy Built...
Note: I would've liked to give this purchase a 4.5 ★ rating, but that's not an option.
PRO's: I finally was able to purchase a brand name mower that's actually made in the USA, and so far its been a good choice. It's definitely well put together, and was packaged well, too. It came with everything but fuel is seemed, and the instructions were fairly easy to follow. I had a major leg surgery scheduled three days after we picked it up, and it was nice to have the register associate ask if I needed help loading this behemoth in the back seat, also. It started on the first easy pull when I was ready to use it too!
CON's: Well, they're not many "cons" that came with this, but I can say it's VERY heavy. Yes– being well made, its going to be much heavier than the cheap brands and last many years; but still– this puppy is heavy! Lol. Another thing (that I still need to do) is find how to activate the warranty; I looked through all paperwork/instructions and didnt see anything concerning it. Lastly, the wheel height ajustment is different than most mowers I've had. The two wheel height handles are only ajusted on one side, front and back, away from one another. Its not like the old way of counting the slots and evening them up.
Oh– one thing to pay attention too in the instructions: it says in bold type to "make sure you extend the handle out from the deck area 8 inches"— please, do so! The way the push handle is placed for shipping, a few inches of.the push handle hangs down below into the blade area. If you don't advance it out of it's shipping position, the blade will strike it.
All in all im very pleased with it. I got to give it a "test drive" before the surgery, and it worked well. It will be nice not to buy the cheap brand every one to two years too. Thank you!

Correct size for our needs
Perfect size for out 1/4 acre yard. Enough power, bagger is awesome but instructions assembly could be clearer on the throttle control assembly. Started on second pull !!!! Otherwise, we all love it !!!!

Should have paid attention to the reviews...
I'm usually one to over analyze reviews but in this case I thought I would give the benefit of the doubt as I've had good luck with Briggs & Stratton engines before. I was looking for a light-weight, no frills lawn mower to mow our newly sodded lawn. The mower did a great job cutting the lawn and was very easy to push with the large rear wheels. Unfortunately, today the reviews I ignored were confirmed. I cut the lawn for the third time today and noticed what appeared to be a couple of drops of oil on the body below the air filter. I checked the oil and the levels were fine so I went ahead and cut the grass. After finishing, there was a pretty steady drip of hot oil coming from the corner of the engine by the air filter and in the center by the spark plug. After moving the mower I also noticed two small puddles of oil on the driveway. I would absolutely recommend this mower based on the ease of use and the job it does on the yard, but unfortunately due to the oil issues I and many others have had I would recommend looking at a different mower.

peice of garbage
I purchased this is november. Ive used it four times on my small, town house yard. Today.. it starts to struggle, then powers back up to full throttle and i check the engine and motor oil is leaking out on the blade guard! What a piece of trash! I took a chance thinking it would last a season and nope.. couldnt handle it. Home depot wont do anything after 30 days. Im hoping troy bilt will be helpful with the warranty. If not, ill eat the $250 and make a go kart with the motor. Do youself a favor and pass on this brand.

Took forever to start
Bought this mower today. Took it home and spent well over an hour trying to get the thing to start. Once it finally decided to start within a couple pushes it died and wouldn’t start again. Guess it was cheap for a reason.

Bad lawn mower, poor quality and very poor design
Mower doesn't have a choke so you just have to keep pulling until it decides it's ready to start. Handle is VERY flimsy, cheap, thin. Absolute worst part is the grass catcher. Nothing to support the back of it, bag doesn't stay inflated and if you back up gets stuck under lawn mower. I had to use some string to keep mine held up. Bag does not positively attach to bag frame so it keeps slipping off as well. Catcher is horrible by design. Do not buy. Lawn mower is garbage by my third mow. Engine is also making a rattling sound like its going to self destruct.

Very bad mower
Bought this mower no more than a month ago. Added the oil and worked good the first two mows. Third mow checked all fluids and was good. Started right up and half way through mowing the piston literally blew a whole in the side of the engine. So yes I'm very disappointed in this mower
