The cradle only tilts a little bit...maybe 30 degrees, and the inner tube in the lift won't retract all the way...we just put it together and not happy. We would have to lift the sheetrock way in the air to use the lift.

could not have completed the job without it
We needed a means to help install bead board on the ceiling of a garage. tossed around the idea to rent a lift but in the long run, the rental would have been more than the purchase price of the unit. Am very pleased with the quality and performance of the hoist.

            Poorly welded, breaks easily
Lifting my 7th panel the wheel snapped off. It was poorly welded to the cylinder which coils the cable, I could see the welds not going all the way around. Also, welding at point of greatest stress is not a good design. I'm writing this review while I'm on hold with customer service.

Excellent product for the price! Real easy to assemble and disassemble for transport. Used it for a large residential workshop where I installed 20 sheets of 5/8-in, 8-ft sheets of fire-rated drywall on the ceiling. The ceiling had (14) 2-ft by 4-ft, flush-mounted fluorescent light fixtures that had to be removed and re-installed, and I used this hoist for this process as well. I worked on this part-time for three weeks and a rental would have been way too expensive. My only complaint is that the shipping box was really poor quality for the weight and size of this device. The box was coming apart when the delivery guy struggled to get it off the truck. The wheel handle and a couple of small parts were rolling around loose and exposed in the box. Luckily all the parts except one cotter pin were received and I started my project the next day without delay.

We used to gather ladders and friends to hang ceilings. Using this hoist two people were able to hang 12' drywall sheets quickly and without fear of injury. Definitely worth the price paid.

              used piece of garbage
Got this thing in the mail today. Dropped off by UPS. I had read the previous review that stated the person I've gotten used equipment and I chose not to believe them. Well this was a used piece of garbage bent dinged up half the paint scraped off the train label on it's barely readable half of it's missing. Now I'm on my way back to Home Depot to the store to return this piece of garbage and get my money back.

I needed to re drywall my living room and dining room areas and wanted to rely minimally on outside help. So I bought this unit and so far its working just fine. I was very concerned about buying one since i read several bad reviews with bad welds and other problems. I bought the unit and picked it up at a Home Depot near me. The box it was packed in was a bit dilapidated but the components were still ok. Putting the unit together was not terribly hard, but the instructions were only moderately good at best. I had to rely on the pictures of the unit to aid in doing that. I haven't used it alot and so far I've just bought a 4x12 ft sheet which is currently sitting on the unit just fine. i'm not expecting any issues at this time and looking forward to getting this moderate sized job done without much outside help. i would definitely recommend this to others. for me it was better to buy then rent. It is affording me a less hurried approach to putting the drywall up costing less in the long run. And I'm thinking I'll likely sell it once the walls are up and finished.

                  Why hire a helper
This is a great tool for a DYI guy like myself, It has made hanging drywall overhead a breeze and a one person job. No more back strain. I can't believe I waited this long to purchase one. It is not an unreasonable cost for the non professional either.

Easy set up and easy to use
I was a bit disapointed that they sold me a used item. It was missing the handle hardware and was aparently used, by the scuffed weels and ware marks. Overall it works great and is easy to use. Cant beat the price.
