How to install a True Induction cooktop into a counter top
In this video you will see how to install a True Induction cooktop into a counter.
Highlights
The True Induction Mini Duo Portable Counter Inset Induction Cooktop is the perfect combination of sleek design and modern technology. This unit is set apart by its ability to be inset into a countertop or being used as a countertop model to act as an extra set of burners when needed, then stored for future use. Weekend barbecues, family get-togethers or just your weeknight dinner, the Mini Duo does it all. The smaller size and portable or inset option makes the Mini Duo a perfect unit for tiny homes, RVs or normal household applications. Dedication to safety is a defining feature for all the cooktops in the True Induction line. An important function that separates True Induction from other induction companies is that after a pot is removed the burner area it begins to immediately cool down, reducing the risk of burning yourself on a burner. The pan detection feature will shut the unit off if it does not detect a pan on the surface of the unit.

The community answer "The diameter of the induction element is 7" so the base of the pan recommended is 7". You can use larger pans if you like, as long as you understand the heat may not reach the outer edges of the pan which will require you to move the food around in the pan." is almost correct with the following additional information: a 7 inch burner had a magnetic field of 8 inches, in addition if you use a good 3 ply pan the cooking area could reach all the way to the edge of that 10 inch pan.

    Answer

Our Mini Duo is rated at 1800 watt maximum. The burners utilize a power sharing technology. The maximum power of an individual burner level is a setting of 10. When operating both burners, their combined total is level 10. With power sharing, the two burners will self adjust levels accordingly. When you increase the power of one side, the power output of the other side will reduce automatically. For example, one side is at 6, the other burner automatically reduces power to level 4 creating a total maximum power setting of 10.

Can I use a lodge cast iron 12 by 18 fish fryer utilizing both units at one time?

Asked by Dave October 3, 2018
    1
    Answer

Yes, cast iron is induction compatible cookware. However, keep in mind this unit utilizes power-sharing technology. The maximum power of an individual burner level is at setting 10. But, when operating both burners their combined total is level 10, meaning that when operating the two burners at the same time they'll self-adjust levels accordingly. Take into consideration that cast iron will retain heat longer than most cookware. For this reason, you will not need to set the burners to a high level. An operating level of 5 or 6 should produce a significant amount of heat for the cast iron skillet. See the product manual included in this listing for additional details on induction cooking and power-sharing technology.

what size pan can you use on the burners?

Asked by serenabella September 4, 2018

    Answer

The optimal cookware should have a flat bottom and a diameter of 4.5" - 10" inches.
