      A:  The Mini Duo plugs into 1 standard household receptacle and a smart load balancing system unique to True Induction maintains amperage under 15 amps to prevent the circuit breaker from tripping. This system measures the voltage of your output to determine the maximum power that can safely be drawn from you circuit. when you are using maximum amperage and turn one burner up the other side of a dual unit will automatically be turned down.

        A:  The diameter of the induction element is 7" so the base of the pan recommended is 7". You can use larger pans if you like, as long as you understand the heat may not reach the outer edges of the pan which will require you to move the food around in the pan.

You can use larger pans if you like, as long as you understand the heat may not reach the outer edges of the pan which will require you to move the food around in the pan." is almost correct with the following additional information: a 7 inch burner had a magnetic field of 8 inches, in addition if you use a good 3 ply pan the cooking area could reach all the way to the edge of that 10 inch pan.

              This is a lemon
              I bought 1 of these units 18 months ago. 1 burner ceased functioning after 8 months. After a little wrangling, the company sent me a replacement, and i then returned the defective one. Now, after another 9 months, the replacement unit has the same problem: one burner ceased to function. Now the company is telling me i must buy a new one. Save yourself the trouble.
