A: 1/4 of an Inch it's a nice shovel heavy duty handle it will last a long time for a Homeowner
A: There is no metal strip on the bottom. On a rough surface it will wear down a bit
A: What metal strip? Mine didn't have one. It's just a plastic shovel.
A: Unfortunately, wear strips on poly snow shovels are not replaceable. The steel wear strip actually adds to the life of these shovels vs. the blades without steel wear strips.
A: I bought this shovel & it’s the BEST shovel I’ve ever used. Totally worth the money!!!
A: No metal edge on this blade. Very thick plastic. It’s getting a little rough on the leading edge, but will continue to do a great job pushing snow. Not as good at scraping the packed/icy stuff.
A: I had called the manufacturer and at that time they did not sell replacement parts for this product and you would have to purchase a new shovel. However My shovel had an issue with the handle connecting to the shovels blade assembly and they sent me a replacement new shovel.
A: Tried it once, did not like it, should’ve returned it! Snow too heavy to push due to shovel size, May be better if shovel is smaller.
A: I did not get an answer from home depot in time, so I did place the shovel blade in a table vise and used a flathead screwdriver and hammer and the blade was fired off. I bought a new wooden handle same radius as the original, and screwed the keyway onto the new handle, drove it back onto the blade, and good as new.
A: The nature of your question is not clear, but I think what you might be asking about is an issue I encountered. The shaft of the handle was only loosely inserted into the brace on the blade when I bought it. To tighten the two together, turn the shovel upsidedown and firmly bang the handle on a hard surface. This will seat the blade onto the handle's shaft.
A: As far as I can see, once the handle is inserted it locks into place and I don’t see any way to release it. Maybe you can contact (the manufacturer) True Temper and see if they will sell you a new handle and blade mount, if so you could switch the blade over.
A: It does wear down. But it was cheaper than the full metal version. Also the metal really hurts a lot more when you hit a crack and does weigh much more.
A: Not good for uneven pavement.. it really likes to get caught on cracks.. works if you go slow and lift over bumps.. it won’t where out.. strong as hell..
A: The blade is pretty thick and durable. It will get caught in an uneven drive depending on the width / depth. I found that it was able to slide over my asphalt driveway pretty well. The blade is also removable, so I am assuming you will be able to replace if you experience a lot of wear.
A: I suggest it's intended for a large smooth driveway. Works great with a few inches of snow (but not a lot of deep snow!). It did not like our brick-paved patio which has high-low spots. Overall a nice snow removal and gets the residual snow off after using your shovel(s) or snowblower.
A: Yes, my driveway is all asphalt and quite large. Just cleared it again and had zero problems. Actually, the metal edge shovels hang up occasionally but not the pusher.
