Used for my GO- DEVIL, (a wood splitting maul). Hard wood can be cut or formed, fiberglass is bad for the environment. It'll last forever as long as you don't miss!

Good handle
I had a maul with a busted old handle so I had to replace. I originally bought a replacement maul handle but the end was shaped incorrectly. My maul ended up taking this axe/sledge handle. It is sturdy as expected being hickory. I would have given it 5 starts but the cut in the end was off center which can potentially weaken the end once the wedges are in place. Also my handle was missing the metal wedge but the guy at H.D. got me one from another handle so it is all good. Hopefully it will last for 15 years like the last one.

Splitting it up
Easy install of head and has a very well rounded handle. One thing that would make it better is if it had a rubber buffer guard included. Great price.

I shaped the end a little with a razor knife and sand paper to insure a tight fit. After tapping on my hammer head and cutting the handle flush, I hammered in the wedges. The results were a rock solid connection to a rock solid handle. I've used it a lot since then with no sighn of weakening.
