Rusty, Not Trusty
Bought three years ago. I thoughte all steel construction would make it more rugged. Nope. Handles began rusting badly within 2 years. I scraped and repainted with rustoleum, but within 2 more seasons the handles were unusable. I just replaced the handles with a pair of hardwood handles bought online for $50. I would avoid any HD wheel barrow with steel handles.

Already Rusted
Picked this up from Home Depot today via pickup and it’s the only one they had, it’s filthy and already has rust spots. If I didn’t need a wheel barrow right now I would take it back.

Axel on flat free tire isn’t secured and can work loose
Two things. 1.Don’t trust HD assembly if yours comes preassembled. Go over everything. 2. The axel is only held in place by little dimple in the bracket on each side. It will easily and frequently walk over the top of the dimple and slide to one side as the wheel rotates especially under load allowing the wheel to come loose The fix is simple enough: Drill out the dimples with 3/32 bit and screw a 1/2” long self tapping screw in the hole as a stop on each end. True Temper 6 cu. ft. Wheelbarrow with Steel Handles and Flat Free Tire arrived quickly. We placed all the parts out to verify all parts were in the package before beginning the assembly process. Assembly documentation described the parts and the assembly steps well. There was one critical item that was either not in the documentation or an item that I overlooked: Don't tighten the bolts on the handles all the way until you have the leg brace in place. To install the brace, the legs have to be forced apart about 1-1/2 inches in order to properly mount it. The leg brace appeared to be an incorrect part since it appeared to be 1-1/2 inches too long.
This wheelbarrow is currently being used for hauling cement blocks, top soil and paver base across the yard for a retaining wall project. The balance and stability of this True Temper wheelbarrow is top notch. It really takes the worry out of the tire pressure with the flat free tire. It held up wonderfully through the ups and downs of the terrain. The wheelbarrow is also light weight yet strong. The steel handles contribute to this. This wonderful wheelbarrow will definitely provide years of service with the sturdy build.

This wheelbarrow comes packed with all the parts except the handles, in one box. The instructions are clear and the parts fit together well. It took 20 minutes from opening the box to a finished wheelbarrow. The metal is heavy gauge and painted well. The "never flat" tire is a feature to be appreciated for years!! I loaded it today with limb, brush and clipping. It holds a lot and pushes easily with a full load. This is one of my tolls that the kids will all want after I am gone!!

My old wheelbarrow became unusable because it stays outside and the wooden handles rotted. I had been looking for a new one that had steel handles and decided to get this True Temper 6 cubic foot load-capacity model that also featured a flat-free tire. It arrived at my door in two boxes; one with main body and tub parts, and a second that contained the handles. It does require assembly and it is much easier if you have the help of a second person. The only tools required are a slotted screwdriver and a 1/2 inch wrench or ratchet with a 1/2 socket. I used a cordless ratchet which sped up the process quite a bit. There's a good illustrated instruction manual that's easy to follow. It took me about an hour to get it assembled. Once assembled, this is a sturdy and good looking wheelbarrow. I really like the yellow and grey color scheme. The flat-free tire is plenty large to roll large loads over soft ground. It also solves a another problem that I always had with my air-filled tire on my old wheelbarrow and that was that it was usually flat when I needed to use it. The 6 cubic foot capacity is large for a wheelbarrow so it will carry a lot of any material you need. This is a really good wheelbarrow and think that with a little care it could last a lifetime.

This wheelbarrow came very well packaged. It did although come with missing hardware to assemble it. I called the Ames company with the number provided and spoke with a very nice customer service representative that immediately placed an order for the hardware i needed. Sadly when it arrived 5 days later it was the wrong hardware. I called back and they sent another assembly package. Mistakes happen. We are all human. I absolutely love this wheelbarrow. The steel handles are amazing. The no flat tire is the best thing ever. I put 200 lbs of soil in it and it was like pushing grass in it. I accomplished a lot with minimal effort. Great wheelbarrow without a doubt. The clear plastic washers hold the bolts secure so you can assemble it with no help.
