I love the power of this machine, and it is...
I love the power of this machine, and it is amazing that a machine with 209 cc of power could run so quietly. However, I am a 66 year old disabled person. I absolutely must have the self-propelled feature for a 125 pound machine on a large one acre yard with many hilly sections, and with some steep sections. To engage the drive you lift up on the handle bar and the self-propel immediately engages, with all that power, and immediately jerks the handlebar out of my hands, or the handle bar drops an inch or two, and the power drive instantly disengages. So to my neighbors it looks like I'm trying to train a giant bull-frog to mow by lawn, one hop at a time. I have tried to adjust every possible setting, to no avail. I once had a mower that had a similar problem, just not quite as severe. It could not be adjusted either (and there really is no excuse for not having a control knob, dial, switch, lever, -- something, or someway to adjust this thing without me re-engineering your mower for you!) Anyway after a sumer of mowing with the other one, the drive belt got enough wear and enough slack in it to behave acceptibly. I don't know if I can fight this thing for a whole summer or two, before I finally break it in... Otherwise, it's my favorite mower of all time! Go figure. . .

Electric Start is an OPTION
The add says 120v Electric start. When received the electric start is an upgrade and you have to contact the manufactory and ask for 26 WAM Part# SP15-000485 for an additional $99.00, per the manufactories manual. The add is not right and should be changed.

    Good mower
Was looking for a bigger lawn mower to make quicker work of cutting the grass. Had never heard of Turf Beast before and was a little skeptical but the mower is good and easy to use. Self propelled system is quick but you can get a feel for it so it will go at your pace.

I went with this bigger mower because of my large corner lot. It has an easy to start pull and a powerful engine that gives a nice cut plus it really saves time with the additional width. I did have to get use to the variable speed rear wheel drive especially while turning a corner and it moves at a fast pace on a straight line. Overall its a very good mower.

Really nice off brand mower. Was a little skeptical at first, but after using the first time and seeing the power, variable speed drive, blade clutch, and electric start all together made me very glad I got it. Makes my massive yard very manageable.

It's a well built mower. I wish the walk behind speed adjusted to the person. You diffidently get a cardio workout. It's a little difficult to manage for a man, I think the Turf Beast would beat up a woman trying to use it.

        Response from THD-CSFeb 12, 2019
Dear valued homedepot customer your reply is, The issue may be that the handle bars are set either too high or low. There are 3 height adjustments available as per page 27 of the owner’s manual under the troubleshooting guide. Adjust handle bar height to the most comfortable positon. Note that the variable speed drive system is most comfortable when the handle bars are set to a higher than normal position.
