Questions & Answers

Hi- Can this be added to mortar to make the mortar waterproof? Planning on using outdoor under pavers being applied with mortar

Asked by Mike September 5, 2020

Mike, Type-e is intended for exactly that use. you would use 1.9lb per 94lb bag of cement, or if another size bag, use 2% of cement content (not necessarily, the bag weight, but rather the weight of cement contained in the bag) Type-e will reduce the flow of efflorescence through the setting bed and joints and waterproof the mortar trough capillary crystalline action. For best results, you could also seal your pavers and mortar with Hydropel Sealer. any questions pleae email: greg@dryconcrete.com
