USG Sheetrock Brand Spray Texture is a ready-mixed spray texture for walls and ceilings. Fast and easy to apply, it provides excellent standout, low shrinkage, and a more durable finish than conventional joint compounds. Sheetrock Brand Spray Texture is a ready-mixed formulation for interior, above-grade surfaces that creates light texture patterns such as spatter, spatter/knockdown and orange peel designs. This wall and ceiling spray texture is ideal for use over properly prepared interior surfaces, including gypsum panels, concrete and plasters substrates.

A:  HandyAB, USG does not have a recommendation for applying USG Sheetrock Brand Ready-Mixed Wall and Ceiling Spray Texture over chip wood panels. We would recommend applying the USG Sheetrock Brand Ready-Mixed Wall and Ceiling Spray Texture to USG Sheetrock Brand Gypsum Panels. Thank you for considering USG products.

    A:  Chuck Thank you for your inquiry. The coverage rate for Sheetrock Ready Mix Wall and Ceiling Texture is between 300-700 sq. ft. per carton depending on how thick it is applied. You will only need 1 carton for a 12' x 12' ceiling. Hope this helps.

      A:  John Thanks you for your inquiry. Ready mix joint compounds have a shelf life of 9 months from the production date stamped on the carton or bucket. Always check the dates to make sure you are purchasing the freshest compound. When you open the compound mix the entire contents and then only remove what you think you will need for the project. Make sure that your tools are clean. Repeatedly inserting the drywall knife in the original container will contaminate the joint compound. When you are finished do not return any compound back to the original container. Cover the remaining compound in the original bucket with approximately 1" of clean water and replace the lid. When you open the lid for your next project pour off the water before remixing the compound. This will reduce the chance of mold growing on the compound. Thanks for choosing USG products.

        A:  Thank you for your inquiry. Our Wall and Ceiling Spray Texture Ready Mix is designed for spray application. If you would like to apply texture with a roller we recommend using our Tuff Tex Wall and Ceiling Spray Texture which is a powder that is mixed with water. Thanks for choosing USG.

          A:  Yes and no. Depends on what finish you want. I usually roll texture with flat paint mix. Nice finish. Always test an area first.
